Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if any franchise records from Atlanta's time have been beaten yet? I believe that Kyle Wellwood's goal 8 seconds into the game tied the franchise record.
Have any been beaten yet?

I am sure Pavs .863 save percentage and 4.19 GAA are on pace for franchise records. Probably not records that you want.

Yeah...I sort of regret drafting him as a backup-goalie for my fantasy team (and my starter, Hiller, hasn't been his old self yet, either...so I've got a shootout team--great offense, no defense or goalie power.)

The Sun posted a list of franchise records a few weeks ago.
Does anyone else wish the media, when they mention franchise records relating to the Thrashers, would also, just for fun, mention the "Jets" records (ie. Coyotes?). I'm much more interested in how we compare to our old team than the Thrashers.

Thursday there was one of them-
Most goals in a game, both teams 17 (PHI and WPG) beat the old mark of 14 with ATL and LA in January 2006.
Tied a few including:
Most goals in franchise history (with 11/12/05 at CAR) Most goals, 2nd period, Jets and opponent (with numerous)
Weird reading through the Jets media guide with all the Thrashers references.

The 9 goals were impressive, but if I can recall, the version 1.0 Winnipeg Jets beat the Rangers 12-5 in NYC in the 1984-85 season (I believe it was early March 1985).

I can understand not wanting to have any connection to that damned franchise but it is what it is.

Its interesting.
I have heard commentators make mention of the Thrashers/Jets franchise records but also Jets 1.0 records.
The first game against Montreal, there was mention of the first NHL Jets goal by Morris Lukowich and the first WHA Jets goal scored by Ab MacDonald.
No mention of the first Thrashers goal scored though.

On Sportscentre they mentioned the first Jets when talking about the 9-8 game. Something about the most number of goals scroed in a game by a Winnipeg NHL team since such and such a date. I find there is a mix of talkign about franchise records and talking about Winnipeg NHL records

Like it or not, the Jets are the former Atlanta Thrashers. Any records set by this current team will have no connection to the previous Jets.

If memory serves (and it's a bit vague right now) was there not a Jets game back in the 80's where the final score was 15 - 2? I think we played the Minnesota North Stars but not sure who won.

But we are still VERY connected to the previous franchise because of team name, city, province -- in addition to the old logos and jersey designs now owned by TNSE.

My dad used to tape a lot of the games back then. I know we have one with the JEts beating the leafs 10-2 so 9 goals is a tie for franchsie record but definetely not a Winnipeg NHL team record.

The North Stars beat the Jets 15-2 and set a team record for most points in one game with 39 on November 11, 1981. See the ill-formatted info buried in here: www.rauzulusstreet.com/hockey/nhlrecords/records11.htmlThe Jets finished second in the Norris that year with 80 pts. Was that Hawerchuk's rookie year?
