The new Jets (Thrashers) have never won a playoff game, and only made the playoffs once.
Tkachuk was traded to Atlanta that year at the deadline, then re-signed with the Blues that summer. Kinda cool he is connected to both versions of the Jets.

The North Stars beat the Jets 15-2 and set a team record for most points in one game with 39 on November 11, 1981. See the ill-formatted info buried in here: www.rauzulusstreet.com/hockey/nhlrecords/records11.htmlThe Jets finished second in the Norris that year with 80 pts. Was that Hawerchuk's rookie year? Yup, it sure was. We were the most improved team in NHL history up to that point (from the record low 80-81 season to 81-82)

If memory serves (and it's a bit vague right now) was there not a Jets game back in the 80's where the final score was 15 - 2? I think we played the Minnesota North Stars but not sure who won. The North Stars killed us. It was in Minnesota during the 1981-82 season. We managed to get revenge though. A week later the Jets only lost 6-4 to Minnesota back at the arena.
