Is it possible to widen the ice surface without compromising the arenas of most North American cities? I would not mind to see the ice surface widened, but I am not sure if it is practical. I would love to see the nets increase in size.

Didn't his sister have to retire from some sport due to concussions as well? I played hockey with a kid that had to give it up at 16 due to concussions. Some people are more prone to them.
It has nothing to do with respect or enforcers either. Kids grow up playing hockey in suits of armor. The gear is lighter, and protects the wearer better. So they go harder, because the damage to themselves is lessened. Couple this with the added knowledge we have of concussions, it makes it seem like an epidemic. It was likely always this way.
FWIW, I think he's done as well.

I am kinda getting tired of people calling out crosby with this too. They all call him weak and whatnot and its so stupid. If you are hurt you are hurt. When Arron Hill on the blue jays got a concussion people didn't call him weak, instead they gave him comeback player of the year. But its Crybaby Crosby so lets all rag on him.
