Great, brain dead, knuckle dragging, neandrathals, beating each other bloody and stupid for the entertainment of the disenfranchised masses. I'll give that garbage the miss! I agree 100%. Can't stand UFC. I guess I just don't have enough testosterone to enjoy it. Can't wait for the Heritage Classic announcement...when it happens next year....maybe.

I just hope the card is plagued by injuries like the one in Calgary last summer.

I couldn't care less, although I recognize that it's sort of a big deal.

i dont really care about UFC i personally don't enjoy watching people try to hurt them each other for 2 hours on purpose. This is huge for TNSE though, im sure this will sell out just as quick as beiber did. UFC is massive

That's one more ticket for those of us that understand the sport Yeah, it's just to difficult for me to grasp. Beat your opponent until he forgets his name, choke him unconscious so he loses a few thousand brain cells, twist a limb until it almost breaks. YES! YES! YES! BLOOD! I think my pants fit snugger now. Enjoy and continue that devolution.

Interesting. Still would like to see a RAW come back. MTS Centre would be a great venue.

This is like the IKEA announcement for me. I don't much care for IKEA but I appreciate what having one in Winnipeg does for the city. Similarly, I'm not a UFC fan but I understand what being a UFC host city means for Winnipeg.
Enjoy, all you UFC fans. If us Jets STH's get first dibs on our seats I'll grab my four and put 'em out here for sale.

im not a huge fight fan myself, but have tonnes of friends that are going crazy for this. i have a family member that trains, and its very technical, not just a street fight.

Took th words right out of my mouth. People have been training and fighting since the beginning of time. It's the purest form of sport there is. No blaming ref's for bad calls and missed penalties. No blaming goalies and teammates. It's you against him. Who trained harder, who is smarter, and who wants it more.

In fairness, the biggest arguement for keeping fighting in hockey is because it keeps people from playing a chippy, dirty game on the ice. So I don't think it's quite the same arguement. I don't have any problem with UFC though, just never got into it. Feel too weird when they start hugging eachother on the ground for minutes at a time...

Who trained harder, who is smarter, and who wants it more. That doesn't mean I am supposed to like it. I just find the UFC boring and repetitive. Just an opinion. As for what chemicalxv wrote, I get your point. However, I don't watch hockey for the fighting. Those who watch hockey for the fighting are better suited to UFC. If fighting were ever eliminated from hockey, I'm pretty sure we would all still watch it. Anyway.... I guess it's good that "big" events like this are coming to Winnipeg. Keeps the city on the map and on par with cities like Calgary. However, it sure isn't a major announcement.
