www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/story/2011/10/05/mb-jets-fakes-winnipeg.htmlA load of counterfeit Winnipeg Jets jerseys destined to be sold in the city has been seized by RCMP. The Canadian Border Services Agency and RCMP's federal enforcement section intercepted an air freight container with 190 fake jerseys on Sept. 29 in Winnipeg. The jerseys were manufactured in China and shipped to the city, RCMP said. The retail value of the jerseys is estimated to be in excess of $76,000. The shipment included home and away jerseys containing players names and numbers, but the colours and the quality are poor, said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Miles Hiebert. Hiebert said that with the soaring popularity of Jets wear, the public needs to watch out for this kind of thing. "It was just a matter of time until we intercepted copies of the official Jets jersey" added Cpl. John Montgomery of the RCMP's federal enforcement unit. "This was very quick, as the Jets just released the official jersey a few weeks ago." In August, the RCMP seized a shipment of 40 counterfeit jerseys featuring the Jets new logo and shoulder flashes — just weeks after the team unveiled the logo. However, the actual jerseys hadn't yet been unveiled and the fakes didn't contain the light blue colours that would later be revealed to be past of the official uniform. The authentic jerseys were unveiled in September.

Again with the ridiculous valuation from the RCMP. $76,000 worth puts the jerseys at $400 each. Even the Reebok Pro 100% authentic one aren't that much.

Completely the wrong colors, too. Glad they've been seized.

I was leaving the last exhibition game and saw 2 guys wearing one of the fake ones and it was sooooo bad. Everyone around us started making fun of them. The one guy looked totally deflated while the other said we were jealous that he got his authentic one before we did.

Yikes, kinda feel sorry for them.....maybe it was all they could afford?? or maybe they were genuinely duped???

There is the cheaper version of the jersey coming out in a couple weeks. They could have waited for that

i saw a really bad fake jets jersey (new edition) at the last game... the stripes around the arm were so small compared to the rest of the jersey it made the guy look like he was wearing one of those girl shirts with puffy shoulders. he was fronting like it was real when un educated people asked him about it. I was embarrassed for his wife a lil.

Make sure no one confuses the knock-offs with the Prospects Tournament jerseys. The PT Jerseys look a lot different from the 'real thing' but are in no way knock-offs, and if someone's wearing one they shouldn't be treated like a knock-off artist.
I wore my Telegin PT jersey to the Carolina game and had someone 'feel' it and ask, in coded terms, if it was a knock-off. When I told him the full story he almost jumped back and apologized for touching such a 'hallowed' garment.
That'll be the only time I wear that puppy though. With the real thing coming in it's time to show the game-worn the respect it deserves. Here's hoping Ivan Telegin becomes the next Federov.

Yikes, kinda feel sorry for them.....maybe it was all they could afford?? or maybe they were genuinely duped??? Trust me you couldn't possibly get "duped" with the look of these. The dark blue was not the right shade. The light blue was more of a bright sky blue. The logo was not to scale with the jersey either. He most likely ordered this online from a knock-off site that he ordered from before. I myself own knockoffs but I don't keep the ones that are really messed up. Some of them look really good and I have never had anyone question them. However these jerseys the guys had on that night would be the equivalent of a Oiler Jersey being Sky Blue. It was awful.
