Harper says he's not hogging hot Jets tickets REGINA - The prime minister says he's not out to nab more than his fair share of seats when the reborn Winnipeg Jets play their NHL home opener. The Winnipeg Free Press cited an "insider" as saying Stephen Harper asked for 14 tickets so he could bring some cabinet ministers to the game Sunday against the Montreal Canadiens. But the insider said the Jets tickets are in such demand that Harper was politely refused and only given two. Asked at a news conference in Regina about the tickets, Harper said he wasn't aware of such a request. He said he asked for four tickets and will pay for them himself. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is also expected to be there when the puck drops. www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/breakingnews/prime-minister-harper-says-hes-not-hogging-hot-home-opener-jets-tickets-131353258.html

Folks can boo whomever and whatever they like, but I really hope that Winnipeg fans won't start into booing the Star Spangled Banner.

He'll pay for them himself with money he gets from a cheque drawn by a crown corporation, deposited to a Cayman islands holding company which in turn transfers it to an account in the grand Bahamas and is then loaned to a income trust which then claims four hockey tickets as buisness entertainment expense

"Ummm!!! They're playing Montreal."
Of course they are, THIS next game, but in any game against a USA based team, I hope Jets fans show respect to the USA anthem.
Unlike some other rinks!

It is all good.

That was the Liberal Government - sans the brown bag of stolen money... m. No the Liberals would have hired a Quebec lobbying firm, paid them 100k to fly to Winnipeg on a Bombardier jet, to then try and slip Mark Chipman 40k in brown envelope for a pair of $200.00 tickets. The money would be drawn from a Canadian heritage fund. The NDP would have given the brotherhood of electrical workers trade union a job training grant of $100k. The power to the MTSC would then be cut and not turned on again until two opening night tickets where given to the NDP leadership. The money for this would come from the EI fund Now that's how things are done in Canada!
