Was hunting around for possible game day rosters for Oct 13th game vs Hawks in Chicago, and its possible that Chicago will be starting none other than -- Ray Emery for tomorrow. ESPN has reported in multiple reports that Crawford is hurt and has not practiced w/ the team this week... Looks like Corey Crawford may NOT be in net tomorrow for the Hawks. ESPN has reported in a couple of places that Crawford is hurt and has not practiced this week....(5hrs ago)... "...On Monday, nearly three-quarters of a century later, the Blackhawks (consolidated to a single word, presumably for aerodynamics) found themselves in a similar pinch: Starting goaltender Corey Crawford was unable to practice due to a lower body injury (re: concussed groin), and the team needed someone -- ANYONE! -- to take drills. Goalie coach Stephane Waite placed a call to Scott Czarnik, a former Arizona State club team goaltender now studying at Illinois State..."espn.go.com/espn/page2/story/_/id/7093418/chicago-blackhawks-tab-scott-czarnik-goalie-real-life-fantasy-camp...and earlier today (7hrs ago)... "...Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford returned to practice Wednesday after missing the previous two days but his status is uncertain for Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Jets. Backup Ray Emery was out sick, and the team recalled Alexander Salak from Rockford of the AHL as insurance.
"I feel good," Crawford said after practice. "We'll make a decision on Thursday whether I play or not." Crawford said he got dinged up in one of the games against the Dallas Stars last weekend, and the injury is unrelated to a groin problem he suffered toward the end of training camp. If Crawford can't play, Emery would, if he's feeling better. Otherwise, Salak will get the start...."I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I'd pay attention to tomorrow's Sports Select game odds b/c w/ Crawford out, there's a greater chance the Jets can soar into the United Center and steal a win!

Yeah I was reading that today too, I just went ahead and made a guess on the rosters. Most games I will release this the night before the game so in most cases I go off the last games lineups. Lineups can change up to the very last minute of the game so I figured just chance it and see what happens.

Anyone venture to guess who the Jet's starting goalie will be?!?!? I'd prefer Pavelec and maybe start Mason against PHX.
Thoughts?

Have we heard if Mason's wife had the baby? That could be the deciding factor!

The People at Sports Select are paying out 3.80 x for a Winnipeg win vs CHI tomorrow...hmm, I might have to slap down a fiver (especially if Crawford is out). sportselect.wclc.com/lists/index.html

As far as Crawford goes, the Chicago IR, as it currently stands, includes: - Philippe Paradis
- Ben Smith
- Viktor Stalberg
I know NHL teams are notorious for playing coy with the injury status of their players but that's what's on the 'official' list at the moment. m.

The line on the game right now is: Opening line: Winnipeg +195 Chicago -205 Bodog is even better: Winnipeg +170 Chicago -220 www.tsn.ca/fantasy_news/daily_line/nhl/moneyline/How does bodog rationalize moving the line in the same direction for BOTH teams? At any rate, if you can get action on the Jets at 3.80:1 (a la Proline, according to an earlier post) and find couple of safe parlays to throw into the mix, you'd be getting good payback on your wager. Perhaps BC over Saskatchewan and Montreal over the Argos? m.

This is one of the things I forgot to include in the final print. I simply don't know enough about proline or vegas odds in order to do a game by game feature. If anyone wants to do that each game and send it to me the afternoon before the game I'll make sure you get a mention in the publication.

Read some comments from Noel after yesterday's practice -- says that it was "marginally better" than Tuesday's workout.
Yikes.
