Best burger, in my opinion (at least for a "Fat Boy" chilli burger style) is VJs on Main. The fries are really good too. Very consistent... you always know what you're gonna get.
Close second would be Johnny's on Marion and Dairy Delight.

I like the Vientiane Restaurant in a random strip mall on Marion. Great Thai/Laos/Cambodian food. I usually have a meal there when I'm in Winnipeg. vientiane-restaurant.com/

Thanks. I'll give it a try when I'm in Winnipeg in December! I will second that recommendation. From what I can find on the internet, Mom's Perogy Factory is a place where you buy premade and cook them at home? Is this correct? If so, what about a good restaurant that serves ready-to-eat perogies?

D-Jays restaurant on Portage ave. in Westwood (if you can squeeze by all the boulders the property company put in the way).

It obviously all depends on what my mood is or how much I'm willing to spend for different meals, but here are my favs:
- For Burgers or hotdogs or chilli fries & milkshake: Dairywhip (also known as the "greeks") on Marion st. (Ms.Mikes, not far from Dairywhip, is also very good). -For a steak, I'd say the Keg downtown -For latenight (after 2 am), I say Johnny G's -Italian: Mona Lisa, Colossio (not sure if I spelt that correctly), Paradise, and Pasquales -Pizza: Chez Sophie (in St.Boniface) -Poutine: Garage (on Provencher in St.B)

Safeway, just grap a shopping cart. Go to butter section, then the fresh bun section from there to the deli. Order some meats. Go find the plastic knives open bag remove knife. Cut butter buns add meat go to condiment section, add mustard or what ever go`s good with the meat ya ordered. Shop around finish eating what ya have, try some juices. when done just leave cart. When the over nite crew comes in they will notice the abandoned cart and put it back. EnJOY LOL

has any one mentioned Blondie's yet? I've never actually been there but heard a crazy story. My phys ed teacher was rambling on about getting proper protien intake before a work out or something like that way back in grade 11. Anyways my teacher (who is a freaking giant, he's 7 feet tall not kidding) tells us he once went to this place called Blondies in the north end and told us a friend once dared him to got there and try and eat 2 of their massive burgers (I heard you have to order them a day in advance or something like that). So he gives it a go and downs the first one, they bring the next one out and the chef actually comes out to shake his hand and see if he can actually finish the next one. Long story short he did and felt like crap for the next day or so. Please tell me that someone has said BDI?

Is there any good Donair shops in Winnipeg? There are literally hundreds in Alberta. I fell in love with Donairs when I first ate one back in 2005. Right now, if I had to go into business, I would open up a Donair place in Winnipeg. It would be like having a licence to print money.

What's a Donair shop? I still can't believe we don't have a Brazilean Steakhouse. One of those that keeps the meat coming. All kinds on skewers. I love Hermano's... wish they woulda went that route though.
