Actually the Phoenix will be the Lewiston MAINEiacs franchise Wasn't there a dispersal draft? So the former Lewiston players all went and played one year on whatever team drafted them in the dispersal draft, and then all of those who are still eligible for junior will re-assemble in Sherbrooke next year? Seems bizarre.

No, the players will stay with that team, but the MAINEiacs HISTORY - which coincidentally was the Sherbrooke Castors until 2003, and before that the Trois-Rivieres Ducs/Draveurs - will go with the Phoenix.

Oh I see, that makes sense then (since the team used to be in Sherbrooke) why they would bother to call it a continuation of the franchise with all new players rather than an expansion team. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info! The reason they aren't playing this year is because of renovations to the Palais des Sports, and as a result the previous tenant (Sherbrooke St-Francois of the LNAH) has been booted out (and are now the Wild de Windsor, yes there's a Windsor in Quebec)
