Canadian kids should stay and play in the CHL, i think americans should go the college route. Now i dont think we should restrict anyone but for hockey to stay strong in the united states college hockey is key to its success. Our world junior team had mostly ncaa players last years gold medal.
NCAA hockey is really good hockey. to say otherwise is ignorant.

I don't think he'll fade. He was fourth in the nation in GAA last year (Behind Eric Hartzell, Ryan McKay, and fellow Jet prospect Connor Hellebuyck) and tied for 6th in save percentage Again your talking NCAA, do that in the OHL, AHL, QMJHL, and you would have a great argument! Most Canadian players that play in the NCAA do it because the are not good enough for any of the top 3 in Canada programs, and I did say most, not all! Again he will fade off into the sunset. NCAA produces great goalies. Considering Team USA in this years olympics has the edge in goaltending (NCAA goalies) , and canada sees their goaltending situation as a CRISIS...id give the ncaa the edge currently in goal. And i watch your prospect Hellebuyck in person on a regular basis. he is a hell of a prospect

Our world junior team had mostly ncaa players last years gold medal. NCAA hockey is really good hockey. to say otherwise is ignorant. NCAA is a great place to play hockey, the college experience is something all young players should experience, and 20 years ago many young Canadians were looking at that as the number one place to go, but not now, the direction the WHA and OHL have gone has basically made them the number one places to go and it comes down to money! What should happen is they should make it mandatory for any player playing in the OHL, WHL, or Quebec, that they half to attend university or collage.

Marcus Karlstrom currently leads the J20 SuperElit in scoring by a d-man with 8 points (5+3). He's also tied for 5th overall. I don't follow junior hockey closely enough to know how those numbers typically translate into NHL potential. What should we expect from these guys given what we see in them now?

Don't look at Marks old numbers as a reference point , Junior stats are so hard to gauge, a 19 year old playing junior can face guys as young as 15 and take advantage of those players when they are on the ice, I kind of think that's what Mark did. It's the 16-17 year old that comes in and dominates is the guy I like to keep an eye on "Connor McDavid"

You suppose mark took advantage of 15 year olds while dominating the ohl playoffs last year?

You suppose mark took advantage of 15 year olds while dominating the ohl playoffs last year? The point is you can do that in the OHL, WHL, because of the different skill levels and it helps that your one of the oldest guys out there, and that's when old is an advantage not a disadvantage. You can't do that in the NHL and he is finding that out fast. We all know you like Mark but reality is starting to set in and he's not as good as some hoped he would be, and that has nothing to do with the coach!
