Original Stadium in background isnt that the velodrome in the background? do you work for the Archives building or something?. ;D where do you get these from! That picture is taken looking North. East (right) of the stadium you see Omands creek where you can see the culverts. It appears Empress St. doesn't even exist yet. That's where the velodrome was, built later for the 67 PanAm games. Polo Park race track in the foreground. Cool picture!

Thats it I refuse to follow the jets until they rebuild winnipeg arena beside Winnipeg Stadium. Im putting my foot down.

Aug 70 looking SW, after a concert? Those garbage cans were still in use in various places like 5 years ago. Can't remember where I saw them. Maybe Folk Fest or something

anyone know why capacity went form 33,000 in 1978 down to 29,533 (present day sellout) ? what seats were taken out ? Suites on either side of the Pressbox were added, the bleacher seats were replaced with the current ones and the club seats all contributed to the decrease in capacity. I think in 1998 the cap was around 32.500 with the bleachers,then the Pan Am games upgrades lowered it to the current att figure with the new seats, correct?
