All vs teams withholding records. We'll be tested soon enough. Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice Yep. Calgary up next. Bombers are gonna win this one. They are due against them and they are playing pretty good ball too. Bombers 26 Stamps 21

I think Bombers will win too...they put the old jerseys on and suddenly it feels like old time (80's / early 90's) bomber football. Nichols gets no respect (i.e., every talking head says "Willie's a better QB, but"). He kind of reminds me of Clements in a way, the way he doesn't look spectacular but makes really smart plays. I know he has a long way to reach that level...hopefully he can keep it rolling.

Clements was a roll out artist. Nichol's style reminds me more of Hufnagel.

I seem to remember Huf (although memory getting rustier every year) being pretty much a pocket passer but Nichols seems more mobile, although I agree he's not really a roll out artist...granted Clements was a master. My first instinct was that he reminds me a bit of Pierce in his style, but he's not nearly as self sacrificing and reckless, thus thinking smarter like Clements, mixing up the long and short very well. Anyway, just beat the Stamps!

Now that I'm recalling (and have done some googling) I think you're correct. I must have been thinking of J.J. Barnagel.
How's that for an old time reference?

Haha, I remember Barnes / Hufnagel being a tandem for what seemed like forever back then. I must have heard JJ Barnagel before but have no memory of it. Then again, the only team I really followed back then were the Bombers.

What a game. Bombers are 5-0 vs the East and 7-2 overall. Now hopefully we can win both games against the Riders and take control of our own destiny

Well the Bombers did it. They clinched a playoff spot with a 11-4 record. Now any Winnipeg win/Edmonton loss will give the Bombers a home playoff game for the first time since 2011.

The East is terrible, Calgary is rebuilding is this a must win season for the Bombers? They are the best team first quarter of the season.

Well as a transplanted winnipegger in calgary and a FB fan, I had ceded the west to the BBs after the shake up here during free agency and with coaching. But while I see guys were reminiscing in earlier posts about Huff as QB, he is the real deal as a GM. Somehow he finds the horses that can do the job. Particularly with the O line. I thought they were a little small after seeing them in the first game but after some adjustments they've come round a reduced the QBs exposure. A big O line is no guarantee to a healthy QB mind you. Edmonton's line has to be the biggest in pro ball on both sides of the border but Reilly was a pinata back there at times. Anyway its a long way to go to November. You don't win the Grey Cup in July and August but you get a sense of where teams will stack up. But as Calgary has shown time and again first place can be meaningless.

2 game suspension for Andew Harris. What was he thinking! Like the recently suspended Olympic BOUND canoeist he used the "it was in the supplements" defence. Regardless its potentially knocked the momentum out of the Bombers recent run. And dulled his sterling reputation. And with two very important games to those gophers from out west coming up, timing could not have been worse.

Bombers have released Chris Matthews. Interesting timing. Any bets on where he ends up and the odds of him burning the Bombers in the Banjo Bowl?

Well one loss with no Harris but the replacement did well to a degree. Can't lose the Banjo Bowl! CFL west is going to be real interesting if Calgary upsets the ESKSx2
