Oh god if Phoenix gets an owner I can't imagine the amount of snooty, douchebag comments Coyotes fans will have. I don't care what they say. We have the NHL back in Winnipeg.

Ok guys lets think about this. Six months ago nobody and I mean nobody wanted the Phx Coyotes except for Hulsizer who was a getting the sweetheart deal of a lifetime. You can bet the NHL scraped the bottom of every barrel looking fro a perspective owner and no one came forward.
Fast forward to today. TNSE has relocated a team to Canada and sold 13000 season tickets in 8 minutes, and sold out all of the luxury suites not long after.
Suddenly in an even worse economy there are buyers for the coyotes. Wow! It's magic. Well no it isn't. The TNSE experiment sent a strong signal; there is pent up demand for NHL hockey in Canada.
Any group looking to buy the Coyotes is looking to move them. End of story. Either that or they will demand a huge subsidy from someone. The economics just don't work otherwise.
With that said, no subsidy is possible without a bond sale, and we all know how that went last time.
It will be interesting to see what market they get moved to.

It would be utterly hilarious if the buyers bought the team and then relocated them somewhere else.

im thinking its a 3 year out clause. Greg Jamison is a smart guy. word is that the Coyotes will be off the market in 72 hrs. after that the fans will have to step up, similiar to what winnipeg went through. of course they wont be expected to sell 13,000 season tickets, but they will have to do something close in order to get that lease signed. just my thoughts, i could be wrong.

DarrenDreger Darren Dreger No formal offer from Jamison group to buy the Coyotes, just talking at the moment. Tough for all involved to gauge where this will lead.

So for the deal to be done, the Jokes fans have to step up and buy a Crap load of season tickets?? How many, around 10,000? Sounds like it's hopeless for them. I heard on ESPN that Jamison is a lot farther from closing a sale then it is made out to be.

Not only do they have to sell tickets, they have to sell them at NHL prices!
Otherwise, they're just sucking revenues away from the teams in good hockey markets like Canada and the Northern US.

I'm guessing they'll have to raise their ticket prices by at least $10 a seat, I bet their season ticket sales will go down actually.
What excuses do you think the Joke fans will make now?

Well the Average Jokes ticket price is $36, I heard the Average NHL Ticket Price is $51. So I guess $10-15 a ticket. As for a ticket comparison,
The seats that are $10-15 in the COJ are $39-54 in Winnipeg. The seats that are $25 in Glendale are $64 in Winnipeg. The seats that are $45 in Glendale are $79-94 in Winnipeg. The seats that are $80 in Glendale are $114-129 in Winnipeg. Wow.

^^And part of that extra money that Jets fans are paying is going to Phoenix in the form of revenue sharing!
