I think thats one thing I love about our logo is that it doesnt have a City reference. I was concerned that it wouldnt be recognizable but my trip to Las Vegas has set me straight on that.
On top of that, I think I love the colors. Sort of how I love the hawks logo but hate the leafs logo.

Top 10? Sure. Top 5? No way. Chicago, Boston, Habs, Leafs, Blues, Wings all are ahead, with a few others in the mix, like Calgary, Devils, Flyers and Sabres now that they've gone back to the old logo, as well. I like it, but lets not ovestate matters. Sorry to break it to you all, but this is really all just personal opinion and everyone's going to have a different one. I'll throw this out there though - Ducky you are probably the only one who would put the Devils logo so high up on the list! ;D

Everyday I wear the shirt someone asks if it is nice to have the team back! The hockey fans are very excited to have another team in Canada. Now I'll have to see if they will actually put the games on in the bars, but for now, a lot of people know Winnipeg because of our Pro hockey team!

Alwys been a Hawaiian fan actually. But I totally hear you. Design is a hard thing to get agreement on. For me personally, you may notice that each logo I mentioned is even LESS complex than the Jet logo. And 8 of the ten have a direct reference to the city's name in the logo. (yes, the Detroit logo forms a stylized D) If the Detroit logo forms a stylized D (which is a big reach in my opinion) then the jet in the current Winnipeg Jets logo forms a stylized W.

I think, if you look very closely, you can also make out Bobby Hull's wig in the new Jets logo. ;D

Speaking of stylized letters, I just realized last week that the Hartford Whalers logo has a stylized H in the middle. Another logo that is very well done is Winnipeg Transit - the W wrapping around the T...

You may be shocked at how little hockey coverage and talk there is in the U.S. It used to be more prevalent when ESPN had the NHL contract and would highlight the games on Sportscenter and their NHL 2Nite show on ESPN2.
Yes, there's more to sports than ESPN but for better or worse they frame the "sports water cooler" debate in this country and they almost NEVER talk hockey. When they do show a highlight it's usually from a Pens or Caps game and even then the highlights are extremely limited. Let's see what happens this year if there is no NBA season, but don't count on much NHL coverage even then.
Contrast that with Canada where yesterday TSN aired a full 30-minute live show about the proposed rule changes for next season including for instance more than one in-depth segment on the proposed "verification line" behind the goal line.
Averaged on a year-round basis, ESPN Radio for instance is probably around 70% NFL talk, 15% NBA talk, 7.5% MLB talk and 7.5% everything else. Golf, college football, college basketball, soccer, boxing, tennis and probably more sports seem to also get more coverage on their radio network than NHL hockey.

I've already noticed that. I listen to sports talk radio all the time and there is hardly a mention of hockey. Too bad, but i understand it isn't the same sport here as it is in Canada. Well, I'll be sure to have my pirate vision hooked up to my tv to stream whatever NHL I can. I'll also have to get the NHL center ice package. I'll be doing whatever I can to not miss out on Jets Hockey! Nothing will keep me from the game on Oct 9th! ;D

Also I believe XM Radio has an NHL channel.
