Open question: Have you EVER seen a goose egg for shots in one period ever, let alone BY THE WINNING TEAM?! That was the IceCaps' second period, where they had several chances but missed the net - Aaron Gagnon in particular missed several times.
But this team on Cinco de Mayo merely needed two key players: Eddie Pasquale, who with the exception of a late scramble goal by Eric Tangradi was a brick wall, and Brock Trotter, who had his second multi-goal game of the series, including the OT winner. However, the penalty kill was also crucial in killing two straight 5-on-3's in the second.
It's an afternoon start in Wilkes-Barre, so it's going to probably be less exciting than last night's OT thriller. Still should be interesting.
Go Caps Go.
Final note: Trotter's OT winner was originally unassisted, but later Mark Scheifele got an assist. But that was changed, as the assist went to Carl Klingberg. Klingberg played very well and was robbed in the third on a chance for an insurance goal.
