This is great! I found this all very interesting reading, especially the part about the preseason game between the Blackhawks and the North Stars on the less than pleasant ice. Kinda neat knowing that within a year of Bobby Hull playing that exhibition game that he would be calling the Winnipeg Arena home as part of the upstart Jets!!!
I look forward to reading all of your other news clips! This heritage is the stuff that further cements the deep passion and love for your team....you really understand the struggles and hard work it took just to bring pro hockey to Winnipeg the first time. The second time around followed similar parallels.
Thanks again!

Great stuff.
Just solidifies how important the Jets name is to a professional hockey team in Winnipeg. A lot of history with it dating back to the WHL team.
Glad TNSE did the right thing last year.

Great stuff. Just solidifies how important the Jets name is to a professional hockey team in Winnipeg. A lot of history with it dating back to the WHL team. Glad TNSE did the right thing last year. Although the vast majority always wanted the name Jets, there was a (to me) surprisingly large minority that felt strongly they should go with a different name. But I notice that since the season started last year, I don't think I've heard a single person comment that we should have gone with a different name. It was definitely the right choice!

Exactly.
The Jets name is to Winnipeg as the Maple Leafs are to Toronto or the Bruins are to Boston.
