Just amazing to see what it took to get the WHA off the ground. It really was a miracle that they played any games at all, nevermind playing 7 full seasons... thanks mainly to the absolute stroke of genius and luck of signing Bobby Hull.

Some impressive commentary in the April 28, 1972 article - "It galls me to thing we should be so gullible to breed and hatch hockey players like couped up hens in some artificially lit hatchery for the savory delights of the red-necks of Atlanta, Georgia", followed up with "Atlanta Georgia, when last I looked, was still the city of bigots it always was."
Pulling no punches.

Because nowadays, these reporters may be hounded on social media for their harsh comments.

I have no idea where this should be posted, but this seems as good a place as any. I was just looking at the KHL website to see how Burmi is doing (just squeeking out the team point lead over Little Timmy Stapleton), and I noticed the name Deron Quint as being 2nd in the KHL for goals by a defenseman. Sure enough this is the same guy the original Jets drafted (1994, 2nd round, 30th overall). That was just weird to see.
