People who bitch about the arena are class A unappreciable pieces of crap. Go blow it out your arses you whining PATHETIC wastes of space!!!!!!! You think the world owes you!!! How bout you do something in life like Chipman instead of piss & whine & moan about what you want. You people make me sick!!!! Wow, tell us how you really feel and don't hold back! As a life long Winnipeger it would be nice to finally see something done in this city 1st class, instead of bargain basement, budgets, say that 3 time fast. This is the stigma of Winnipeg that we can't shake because of these cost cutting, get it done fast and cheep mentality of this town. Oh and don't go pointing out the Human Rights Museum as first class, we would have been better off spending those kind of funds on a arena because at least the arena would pay for itself and not be turned into a giant water slide in a few years. I am also a big Chipman fan, but don't think the arena the Moose and everything that goes with it he did single handily. He was given a 1000 times more money and support from all 3 parts of government then our original owner ever seen. I'm good with this, but this would never have happened with out our money and if people are going to spend my tax dollars I want them to spent it right the first time. That should be my right as a taxpayer!

How about the fact that what they built with the money they had a) allowed the Moose franchise to thrive as the top AHL run franchise b) gave us more bigger name concerts and other events we'd never get otherwise and c) IT GOT US AN NHL TEAM BACK! It may not be the Bell Centre or Tampa Forum but I'd rather have the MTS Centre to attend the Jets games and great concerts we keep getting and to be proud of the city I live in and appreciate the drive and determination of Mr. Chipman and co.

You make me sick LT, you don't know me or who I am or what I have accomplished in my 55 years on this planet. If I want to vent about the short comings of our little arena I will. I will also continue to spend $6000 a year on my season tickets and $3000 a year on game worn jerseys and whatever else I spend my money on inside the MTSC. The world owes me nothing, the owners of the team however owe me an arena without obstructed views, without feeling like a sardine on the concourse, without lining up for 15 minutes just to take a leak, without having my eardrums blasted out by some ridiculous concert speakers. Before I join the people bowing down at the alter of Chipman, do you really think he used David Thompson's money to do you a favour, he is not some philanthropist giving away goodies to the downtrodden. Every step he takes, every move he takes is carefully planned to line their pockets and I don't hold that against them one iota. They are businessmen and they are in this to make money, not to make you happy. So let's give this idol worship a rest. I am glad we have the building I am very aware it helped us get our NHL team back. But to dismiss its shortcomings in a thread about how to possibly improve the place is maddeningly simplistic.

I don't have any big issues with the arena as it is. However, there's always room for improvement (again, this is not me whining, but it's merely an opinion on how it could be improved):
1) I realize that TN did things to improve the bathrooms in the lower bowl, but they did no such thing in the 300s. As a season tick owner in the 300s, it'd be nice if they could find a way to improve the line-ups in the 300s. When you spend 90% of the intermission in line to go to the bathroom (this is not an exaggeration), it's a bit annoying.... hardly any time to get a beer or talk with friends.
2) I'm not crazy about the concessions/food options. That "pizza pizza" is not good, and other than that it's basically either a hot dog or a sub... I liked it when they had Gondela pizza... or they could at least try to offer a little more. It's come to a point where I don't eat at the arena.
Again, not MAJOR issues. I'm there to watch hockey, not eat. And I still drink the beer lol. But, just like anything else, there are some things that could be improved.

Whoa, serious anger issues dude. Where does this sense of entitlement come from? You paid your money knowing what you were getting. If you don't like it don't pay your money. No one owe you a thing. Chillax a little.

Anyone who suggests Mark Chipman is not worth worshipping immediately loses all credibility! ;D Actually despite the ;D I'm mostly serious! Look I get that no one likes being in cramped seats, but what point is there to bitch about it right now? It is what it is. To me, the fact that building that arena is what allowed us to get the Jets back helps me get over the fact that it's not a great arena. But even if that doesn't do it for you, just what is the point of complaining? The arena isn't even 10 years old. Like it or not, it's simply not going to be replaced anytime soon. It's not realistic, even in 20 years it would be pretty unrealistic to replace a building that new.

Rarely a wait. And I'm back in my seats with time a'plenty to spare. See if that makes a difference for ya. Now that I've said it everyone will try it...

Hey they could be playing on the river and I would watch from the snowbank, but to pay the highest ticket prices in the league to attend a game in a sub par arena, and you mention the arenas short comings and guy want to bash you for a legitimate complaint! Good thing they destroyed the Winnipeg Arena or these guys might be rallying to move the team there because that was a real palace, then again most of the seats there had more elbow room.

I thought this thread was about improving the arena and people post legitimate issues that detract from the overall experience, then they get jumped on by trolls. Any sense of entitlement comes from spending $6000 a year of my hard earned money to attend hockey games. I paid my money not knowing what the view or amenities were like from the upper deck. It was a bit disapointing but I am living with it and I don't think it's a big issue to point out that there are problems. I was a season ticket holder for Jets 1.0 back at the old barn and never had an obstructed view or cramped seat or lack of space on the concourse or lineups for the loo. But I am glad we have this building, it is a step up but I am also entitled to voice my issues with its shortcomings.

Why pray tell do the owners of the team owe you that? Was it in a cotnract you signed with tham that there wouldn't be long waits to use the bathroom? What don't you get about a business that caters to the public and their responsibility to make them comfortable. When I signed the "cotnract" with the team that was simply financial and parameters by which to behave, however it was intimated to me by the Jets rep that the team was going to do the utmost to give the fans the best game experience possible. They do a reasonable job but the place has shortcomings. I am very aware most of them can't be fixed. My view upstairs is obscured by a long black pipe that keeps me from falling onto the deep pockets downstairs so I have to stretch to see the action sometimes and this annoys the fans behind me. We both deal with it as best we can because we know it can't be fixed. You bring up the long wait for washrooms and the team tried to fix this by building more units so obviously it was a problem they were made aware of and they tried to fix it so your bringing it up was pointless as it was something addressed by the team. However in a thread that has gone off on a tangent there is nothing wrong with pointing out problems regardless of whether or not they can be fixed.
