Do you think Jet fans will add another honour under the old belt?

Probably. What are Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver at? Vancouver must be around there.

Ahhh I should clarify, this record is not technically reffering to simply shut outs but how long a team went without playing a game in front of a non sold out crowd, ie when the Wild franchise started it was 409 home games till they played a home game that wasnt sold out, think it happened in 2010 or something like that.
My bad

Yeah but I figure Vancouver must be 300+ now. They been a top team for a few seasons now and thousands of people on a waiting list.

I could never really understand Minnesotas Claim to most consecuative sell outs. Has Toronto ever had a game that hasnt sold out in its history? Montreal? Is this an "American franchise" Claim? Plus there has ben alot of speculation that the Wild gave away lots of tickets to preserve the streak thehockeywriters.com/wilds-sellout-streak-a-pathetic-farce/

It is not the longest sellout streak in history, what the OP is talking about is the longest sellout streak from when the team entered the league. Minnesota sold out 409 games in a row from thier first game to thier 410th game. We will for sure break that because the arena will be sold out every year.

Plus this is Minnestoa were talking about, I think there a strong enough hockey market to survive without making bogus claims for marketing purposes. Unlike this one hockey team that inducted a player who never played for them and a crappy coach into their ring of "honour" then tried to sue over the term white out...

The game may be sold out, but people don't go to watch hockey, the mingle in the concourse. Same can be said for "Hockey Town" which is lame. Empty seats in playoff games all the time. Who does Detroit think they are?

Well that is only about 9 or so seasons of sell outs. We are gauranteed at least 3, likely 5. Plus the entire 8000 on wait list to replace people who may have spent beyond their practical means in the excitement of the NHL returning.
Summary: Very damn likely we'll break it.

The Canucks have the longest current NHL sellout streak. It recently surpassed 400. In northamerican pro sports the nba's mavericks and mlb's red sox both have current longer streaks.

My understanding is that the Avalanche hold the current record;
"The Colorado Avalanche have the NHL record for the longest consecutive attendance sell outs with 487. The streak began on November 9, 1995, on the Avalanche's eighth regular season home game during the 1995–96 season, with an attendance of 16,061 at the McNichols Sports Arena versus the Dallas Stars. Almost 11 years later, it ended on October 16, 2006, after a reported attendance of 17,681, which is 326 under capacity at Pepsi Center, before a game against the Chicago Blackhawks."
In 16,000 and 18,000 seat arenas, that's pretty damn impressive.

Minnesota's record started with the first home game ever and went 409 games. The OP is asking if we will break that record.
