4Play sports bar is going to close at the end of the year. I always thought it was overpriced, and the service was sub-par. However, I have heard that watching the Jets on TV was exciting at the establishment.
Will you miss 4Play?

4Play was the only place you could get into on game nights no matter your time of arrival. Some of that was due to the size, obviously, but... I've never had a positive experience there. Bad service, food was hit and miss, cavernous and dead atmosphere any night but game nights.
Great concept, they just didn't pull it off (my opinion).

Horrendous service. Servers had no idea about any of the menu items, were clueless about the specials that were advertised on the tables and forgot which tables they were serving. Too bad, I thought it was a good idea when it open, though if I had money, I woulda put the theatre seating on hydraulics so that area could lower under the floor and turn into a dance floor around 11:00 pm.

Loved the seating and screen, but agree that the service was terrible.

No. Service was terrible; Food was ATROCIOUS. Actually rented out the place on multiple occassions -- once for a work function and two or three times for a sports fundraiser.
If it wasn't for our own volunteers who basically took over the place -- the fundraisers would have been a tremendous flop.
We even had to simplify the menu so that the business could accomodate the # of persons we were expecting.
Some of the staff/owners were great to deal w/, but the majority of the staff were absolutely clueless.
We've since held our fundraisers and work functions in other locations in the downtown area to resounding successes. We'll never go back...even if it tries to morph itself into a supper club.
note to owners: getting a high-priced chef won't solve your issues; fire your staff and start over w/ people who know what "customer service" means.

I'll miss it. I dont' really get the hate... I never really had a bad experience there, but even for people that did I would think it must be disappointing the place is closing because if it was done right it would certainly have been a fun sports bar for years to come.

The place is re-opening as a supper club this spring. They know that TrueNorth will be opening their own sports themed restaurant/bar in the near future, and the writing is on the wall.
They'll be fine.

I've been there twice before Jet games. Service was fine: food was terrible. That said, food is worse at Tavern United.

Fillet Mignon is one thing...they couldnt get deep fried wings or nachos. Service was crap..disorginised chaos. I've seen servers there going from table to table asking if this was ours, and when saying no but i'd like to order a drink the answer was no. Literaly flagging down a server to try and get a drink...end up wating in line with a lot of other frustrated guys at the bar who are in the same boat as you. The service truely was dismal there. Much rather go to Shannons, Elephant and Castle, or Tavern before a game.
