So impressed with the kid. He is going to be a force. I know it. I loved how Jokinen text messaged Scheifele after being assigned to Barrie.

I am sorry that you missed it. (I cannot help you in that regard.). However, it really showed how down to earth he is, how excited he is at being a Jet, Hawerchuk's influence on him, and all out special human being.

I totally agree with Cheveldayoff that not every 19 year old needs to be in the NHL.

k Good stuff! Thanks. Hopefully next training camp, he's able to stay on his feet and make an impact.

This 19 year old needs to be on this team. People who state he should do time in the AHL should look long and hard at what we have on 3 of our lines with the exception of Kane who are worth more than this kid . Wellwood? Jokinen?Mietnone?Tangretti? Shall I go on?

*Tangradi Miettinen..... Its not whether he is better... its development. You get better by playing lots of hockey and if he was limited to only 5 or 10 mins a game, there wouldn't be much developing going on. He is a good player but still needs to fill out and learn to stay on his feet more. No doubt he will be an asset but as of now, him leading a team to the playoffs and playing big minutes will only help him down the line.
I highly doubt him being here right now would be the difference maker of us making the playoffs or not to be honest...

He should be playing as a regular forward rather then the pseudo-regular forwards we are using. I didn't think that point was particularly hard to get.

What is difficult to comprehend is that you would willingly sacrifice Scheifele's development in order to replace players on the current roster.

I'll watch it when I haven' t consumed alcohol, or in the morning
but as of now, I'll always compare him to Couturier. If he can overcome his points total in a couple years time, then yeah we got a good pick. If not, then thats down to TNSE

Your point wasn't hard to get. What is difficult to comprehend is that you would willingly sacrifice Scheifele's development in order to replace players on the current roster. Nobody would be sacrificing his development. Indeed, you develop by playing regularly and getting use the pace of the NHL. I hear this all the time and it really sounds so smart but when you think carefully about it and look at the weak forwards we have on particularly the 3rd and 4rth line you realize he would bring as much at minimum and more the longer he played. So I don't buy the cautious business when it comes to the needs of this team and the weak forwards outside of Ladd, Wheels, and Kane.

If he can overcome his points total in a couple years time, then yeah we got a good pick. If not, then thats down to TNSE You mean all 34 of them in 105 games, because that is going to be almost impossible for him to overcome. Couturier has 7 points in 28 games this season, im 100% confident that Scheifele could have done better playing on the 2nd or 3rd line with the jets this season.
