AFAIK the Lowry has yet to sign an ELC with the Jets, so the Jets lose Lowry's rights if he isn't signed by June 1

I think compensation is only awarded for failure to sign a 1st rounder. You get the equivalent pick in the second round. The Jets get the 29th pick in the second round this year for failure to sign Daultan Leveille following his graduation from NCAA. He was drafted in 2008 in the first round at pick 29. NCAA players rights are retained for 4 years, while junior player rights are 2 years (in most cases).

Because we weren't willing to do a deal or because he's not willing to do a deal? Next time the media does a Q&A with Chevy I'd like them to inquire as to where things stand with Lowry. m.

I know they are totally different guys but last year at this time we were pre-ordering our Ivan Telegin jerseys. Now, he's off the map even in St. John's.
Point is it's a long way from prolific Jr scorer to accomplished NHLer. Especially in a guys draft + 2 season when you are almost a man playing against boys.
Again, not to be negative but if Jr. points were always a precurser to NHL glory we would all be waxing nostalgic about the great Jets 1.0 careers of Craig Endean and Ryan Stewart.

No arguements there. But a guy with his size and any hands at all is reason to be optimistic. At the very least, he could be a 4th line guy for us that actually pots a goal or 2 every blue moon, something we have been sorrowly lacking!

With his family history and all I'm sure Adam is a guy who "gets it." I am excited about seeing what he can do on the Rock next year. And you're right, our 4th line isn't exactly ripping it up.

Im a Lowry fan for obvious reasons. I love these guys who play in the WHL. Tough hockey and he is having a super season. Big kid. Here's my dream kid line: Sheiffele at center with Kane and Lowry playing the wings. Kane is the smallest at 6'2" and Sheif should get up to 200 lbs hopefully by the start of next season.
