Chris Daniels @chrisdaniels5 Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn tells me just now “I want to temper expectations” on NHL to Seattle. “We are clearly Plan B” on #Coyotes. #NHL ouch NHL protocol "purchasing a team one must keep there mouth shut" not happening here almost sounds like bragging.... Come on people think for your self! Ah, but the buyers aren't the ones talking. Doesn't matter. This is prep for expansion. Coyotes will stay in AZ. -TODD

Sherwood is the only one shooting off his mouth Sherwood talking to press. So what? Last time it was old man grumpy puss talking to press. In the meantime, if a handshake deal is worked out while all of you were thinking RSE/COG City Manager were not even meeting after their first one, then it's highly unlikely that others who are not speaking are not in the know. Meaning, our friend the mayor. You can cry and call them stupid and irresponsible all you want if you don't get your way. The world is full of sour grapes. Makes bad wine, but excellent whine. -TODD

Todd, if this team leaves, I sure hope you live by your words above and don't make any bad wine.

It would not be a happy day, it would be terrible, but I'm not a whiner or an excuse maker. Now, bubbly when they stay.....strutting in this forum....darn tootin' ! I'm not THAT mature. -TODD

I think we can all affirm that Quebec city has much more deeper pocket than Seattle and Bettman is just trying to take the most from PKP. And do you think Seattle is ready to welcome an NHL franchise? On the other hand, Quebecor has made all these partnership with firms that are probably already planning out their stuff. Am I right?

From what I understand, the two prospective owners of the Seattle franchise have far more wealth than PKP. they would be the third wealthiest owners in the NHL

Well one minute I'm thinking it's all smoke and mirrors and the next that Gary has this all worked out in Seattle already. Please bring this to an end soon because it's making my head hurt!

Chris Daniels @chrisdaniels5 BREAKING: Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn acknowledges recent discussions with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman Chris Daniels @chrisdaniels5 BREAKING: McGinn says a Hansen rep introduced him to potential Seattle NHL investors two weeks ago. Chris Daniels @chrisdaniels5 BREAKING: NHL investors also met with Seattle City Council members. Chris Daniels @chrisdaniels5 BREAKING: McGinn “We believe we can support the NHL in Key Arena”. Chris Daniels @chrisdaniels5 NOW: I can also now confirm Lanza and Bartoszek are the two investors interested in bringing Coyotes to Seattle. #NHL peter26, sorry it's no longer a rumor when we have names, date, price tag, confirmed by multiples sources and almost all hockey journalists NHL = double standard Quebec : you can't get a team without a new arena, you can't get a team if the new arena is not under construction (a project is a project until the construction start *Bettman*) Seattle : we don't care. and now how do you bet that Bettman won't ask Seattle to buy 13 000 seasons ticket to get the approbation from the BOG ? lol I love it, TNSE needed 2 plus yrs to prep, and they already had hockey being played at the MTSC. These guys can get it done in 2 months or less?

Seems silly at this point. Still think QC is the destination.

In other NEWS. I realize some of you were disappointed, so I am making the formal announcement here....... We are bringing back the ONE AND ONLY, THE ORIGINAL "Will the Coyotes survive beyond this season" thread, all 1088 pages!! I am told it may take up to two weeks. When we get it back we will merge this thread and start the count down to 2,000!! So it's been sent out for cleaning? Ah, two weeks. I get it !!!

Talk of only 29 teams next season only if Seattle buys them! Very Strange! Ya this is weird. It would make way more sense to move the team to QC and give Seattle and Toronto the expansion teams when they are ready. Which will be like 5 years from now.
