Well with all the recent news brought up with HNIC hot stove etc, and the Seattle mayor claiming he met with Bettman, I am curious to see how many people still believe that Quebec City is the number one destination in the event of a relocation? I personally still believe that QC is first if the Coyotes are sent packing, but I would like to see what others think as well, so I created a thread with a poll.
The poll closes on June 30th.

No opinion. I originally thought that Quebec would be the destination, but I'm second guessing myself now. I can't tell if the Seattle thing is just a smokescreen or not. I can see Glendale making a bad deal to keep the arena full (well, not full, but occupied, you know what I mean). I can also see the league wanting expansion fees, which would be much greater than relocation. But that dilutes the talent pool.
I don't know and have no confidence any way.

Why would anyone pay more for an expansion team? If PKP or anyone would pay 250 million for a new team with mo farm system etc as opposed to a fully stocked organization.

Yeah I really don't get why people talk about expansion fees being so great either. The league owns the Coyotes so they can and will charge whatever a market is willing to pay for an NHL team. The NHL gets paid all the same, whether they expand or relocate the Coyotes so it makes zero difference to them. And as you say, if anything the Coyotes should be worth more because they have a management team, coaching staff and players (including prospects) already in place. There is no advantage whatsover to an expansion franchise, so why would any owner pay more for one than for the Coyotes?

Not placing my vote but I have a bad feeling (again) they aren't going anywhere.

They would idiots, they still pay the 6 million, lets say of the "projected" extra 9 million they only get 4. the city now pays 11 million a year and RSE as NO incentive to work hard knowing Glendale will cover them for the shortfall.

I hear ya but professional sports franchise don't grow on trees. They may never see another one but they have the chance to save the one they already have! Be a tough decision not too!

Sure everything is on track for the move to QC, it's probably the best and safest place to move them but I've never felt the yotes were going to QC and I'm still not feeling it, so not going to change my guess now. I'm not sure if there are enough options here, but I'll pick one of the above.

They ain't goin' nowhere. As long as they have "potential buyers", the NHL will continue to spin the deadline story.

.1% They end up in Seattle. 50% They stay in PHX. 49.9% They move to QC.
100% Their new owners either put the team back in bankruptcy or the team is relocated in under 5 yrs if they stay.

Hi. Just new to this forum. I am a huge QC Nordiques Fan & -hope- they will come back this fall. I am a little disapointed a of Seattle appearing to be plan B on coyotes, according to Seattle Mayor himself. Anybody have an opinion on this?
Cheers from Quebec

I have changed my mind many times but I feel they stay in Phoenix.
The city of Glendale have put in a huge investment and deserve this last chance to keep the Coyotes as a tenant. If RSE make the right moves and make this team better, then they will begin to bring up ticket prices.
I suspect the first couple years will be difficult but with momentum I see crowds growing, higher ticket prices and parking charges.
I know the arguments so no need to debate. This is only IMHO how things will turn out.
