I used to love basketball but really can't stand it now. But if its good for Winnipeg I'm all for it.
I went to many thunder games and they were very popular with my high school friends at the time

I think you guys are right. I really doubt this type of league could work. I can't see places like Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary going for it at all. Toronto would probably thumb their noses at it since it would be minor league. Perhaps a better idea to try and grow the game might be the NBA giving Vancouver and maybe Montreal an NBA developmental league team. As of 2010-11 around a 4th of the NBA players had spent time in the D-league. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Development_League honestly a canadian version of the NBA D League might be something the NBA would jump on heres why. They have an issue with only 5 teams sharing players from different top clubs. The rest or so are 1 NBA development only...So the celtics send players to Maine. But no other team can send players to maine...but other teams share D league teams. With enough investment the D league expanding into Canada would be a good thing with the right ownership and it could allow the nba to thin out the shared D league teams by having squads essentially sign deals with the canadian clubs. D league needs to expand.

Adding a different sport to this city, charging for it, and playing the game at way less them a professional standard, and calling it a professional sport does not work here! Just look at the Bombers!!! Don't get me started on this, Tim... The Bombers have had plenty of support over the years, and despite how terrible they have been last season and this season, they still get plenty of support. Don't make me call you that name that begins with S.... could be worse you could call me LT, great now I'm going to get sued again!
