Here's what I know. I have a great time attending games at the MTSC, I love the intimate atmosphere. As do out of towners, almost universally - from fans to opposing media.
Before we had the Jets, everyone called the building an NHL facility for an AHL team. Now that we have the Jets, we're calling it an AHL facility for an NHL team.
Winnipeggers, man.

I'm not familiar with the '6 year' plan so I can't comment. I've noted elsewhere that they're working the upper deck heavily while doing little for the lower bowl. I'd rather see some comprehensive work done. m. I believe that they are doing more in the upperbowl than in the lower bowl for the simple fact that the upperbowl just needs more work done to it. I was a STH holder back in the Moose days and am a STH holder for the Jets...Lower (Moose) Upper (Jets) There is a night and day difference between the two. Washrooms, concesions and space of the concorse. Since the upper was rarely used back in the Moose days there was just less money put into it...now that its used just as much there needed to be some improvements.

Well they've already started work on the south west corner. There's scfolding up there where they are building out the floor of the upper level.
I think an upgrade of the score clock will do a lot to make it seem less "minor-league". To be honest the only other building I've seen a game at was the Bell Centre in Montreal. Don't think it's in a whole league above hte MTS centre.

What are everyone's opinions on the 6-year plans to renovate the MTS Centre? Do you think the Jets are doing enough to rid of the "minor-league" venue label or not doing enough? Space limits what they can do. Sounds as if they're spending quite a bit to do as much as possible to improve the arena. So who other then you is calling MTS Centre minor league? Would you rather be in Glendale with a nicer arena and no fans? I'm unassuming this thread will lead to a build a new arena call which isn't happening in thew next 20 years or more. Love to be in Glendale, great arena, great sight lines, great prices, great weather, no lineups, great washrooms, no fear of loosing team while Gary is alive cheep beer, I could go on!

Only thing I wish is the MTS Centre was large enough to have a lounge area open to everybody with TV's, bartenders and draft beers, with TV's tuned into other NHL games.

One would think a recipe for success. Year around warm weather , free or cheap beer with a hotdog or so thrown in and dirt cheap tickets in the lower bowl. Heaven it would be for a Canadian fan.

Ya I guess that's true... I was wishful thinking about a lounge in the upperdeck (since that's where I sit) that could still see the ice surface (like Budweiser lounge), had TV's with other games or sports on but was open to everybody instead of needing a ticket in that area. Similar to the Green Mill Lounge in the upper bowl of the Engelstad Arena. BTW... I understand it's pretty much impossible for this to be constructed... just wish it was something our arena had.
