4-0 on Karlsson's goal. "Welcome to the game Alexander Salak". First shot....goal! And Pav's is in the press box. Zidlicky scores to make it a 4-1 game. Martin Erat gets the assist. Take THAT WSH! And Erat scored today lol

USA vs. Russia, What a game. TJ Oshie doing his best Jonathon Towes impression.
Final stats for Blake Wheeler:
2 shifts 2 PIM 39 seconds on ice, TOTAL!
Why even dress for that.
Hope it doesn't wreck his confidence when he gets back.

Hope it doesn't wreck his confidence when he gets back. Why even bring him? I realize the US has depth, but 2 shifts? Really? From the S4 of Grumpz! Phase 1 complete! Now figure out what to do with Buff & find a #1 goalie.

I'm not sure why Wheeler isn't on the ice more either, but I doubt it will affect him. It's still a good experience.
In other news, I hope today's shootout will make the IIHF re-evaluate their stupid shootout rules. Having the same player go again and again is ridiculous. I appreciate Oshie's skill in the shootout but it's still stupid. The only way a player should go again is if every other player has gone.

One of the best days of international hockey I've ever seen. Lots of quality hockey, an upset and an instant classic!

I'm not sure the numbers yet but Wheeler got a lot more ice time today against Slovenia and played well. One assist that I know of.

Watching Finland play reminded me of the Minnesota Wild when they first came into the league.
All they do is play the trap.
They may win a game or two, but, they will not win a championship.

i thought Finland played us very well today. they caught us a couple of times, played a very patient, defensive game. it actually reminded me a lot of the Jets game against the hawks where we stole the game. it was same here today. glad we pulled it out.

Rask stood on his head. If it wasn't for him Canada would have won in regulation. Bring on the quarters

Glad we pulled it out? I'm glad Finland didn't. We dominated that game in every aspect and even though there weren't a lot of scoring changes, we had 3 or 4 times as many chances. We didn't pull anything out if you ask me.
