Reminds me of when the NHL returned to Winnipeg. not. even. close! and i have a sneaking suspicion that your comment was in jest anyway!....right?? usapegger nailed it IMO. plus, if it was that big a deal, then you would have more than mikecubs and bruinsfan participating in the thread. the fact that its always only the two of them talking back and forth ( which is fine, there is nothing wrong with that ) should tell you that this news is big only regionally. the return of the Jets was International news. no comparison at all.

Lebron james returning is bigger internationally than the jets.....The jets returning was big in canada. People n half of the country and pretty much the rest of the world barely knew who the thrashers were

which is dumb. in that league young players who arent blue chippers are pretty much useless. you need THE guy on your team or it wont work. What i hate about the NBA is the max contract. I wish teams could offer stupid contracts and hurt their cap situation. It hurts teams like boston and even NY. If its cold and everyong is offering the same thing? whats the point of free agency. They are the only league with as bad a problem of players only wanting to go to the beach. Thats why the lebron situation was so awesome it shifted the power away from the beaches and all of a sudden NY signs Melo, Gasol goes to chicago...the nba lost its way a little bit. it seems to be getting it back. As lebron goes so does the league. Hopefully destination teams become less prevelant and players want to play for big strong fanbases like NY, Chicago, Philly, Boston etc. Maybe wishful thinking but lebron going home seems to have created a conscience change amongst players. It's just now that players want to play warm places. Orlando lost Shaq and Howard. New York, Chicago, Boston have never had problems retaining/attracting players. Well Chicago did but that's because of management breaking up the Jordan bulls prematurely. The big problem was and still is black star players only want to play for New York, Brooklyn, the 2 LA teams, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Boston, Golden State. If Philly and Washington started winning you could add them to this list too. I suppose you could say Portland can retain their own players because of how pretty the city is(Lillard and Aldridge want to stay). But the problem is with all the other less attractive smaller cities especially the cold one. Lebron's move changes NOTHING long term. He was a local guy that's why he returned and the Heat were old. This was a 1 off not the start of a trend. Think Cleveland will ever sign another star from another team once LeBron is gone? I don't mind the max contract rule but I'd change it. The original team that player played for needs to be given a bigger handicap. It should hurt a LOT more if a player wants to switch teams. Right now the punishment is a 1 year difference in contract length and a few million per year. Not enough. Long term NBA needs to fix this.

This is a hockey form(the number 1 Jets form) that is why the return of the Jets is bigger news here. Internationally there is no question james return was bigger news. It was the number 1 news story here in the states(not just sports). When the Jets came back it was barely mentioned on ESPN. To me personally the Jets return was bigger news. I think it's a bigger deal when a franchise leaves a crap market for a good one in any sport.

I've been trying to figure out what NBA team to follow, my friend basically sold me on the Hornets...
It's actually good to see LeBron back in Cleveland, him in Miami never really felt right to me...

Easy choice www.sports-logos-screensavers.com/user/Boston_Celtics3.jpgHornets are a nice story though getting the name back, they never deserved to lose that team.

Cavs lineup
PF- Kevin Love SF-Lebron James C-A. Varejo SG- Dion Waters PG- Kyrie Irving
Bench
PF-Tristian Thompson SG-Mike Miller SF-James Jones SF-Shawn Marion C-Brandon Haywood
? SG-Ray Allen
Biggest weaknesses are both centers are injury prone(they could use another medocre big body center) and the lack of a back up PG. Still the best player in the game and 2 other all stars is hard to beat. I also don't trust Dion Waters. Wouldn't surprise me if he bitches about lack of shots and they have to bench him/give him away and they start Ray Allen.
Long term I bet Wiggins is awesome and becomes a franchise player in Minnesota but Cleveland has to win NOW in Lebron's prime. They couldn't wait for 3-5 years from now for Wiggins to develop.

I still think Cleveland loses. Lebron with the big 3 got beat their first year and a more experienced hungry team will be chomping for a victory whether it be OKC, LAC, San Antonio.
Also i still dont think they are a shoe in for the east this year.
But if lebron loses in the title game this year after being given a super team again? his legacy will take a hit. might be better for them to not make the finals.

His legacy would take a huge hit if he couldn't win the weak eastern conference. Paul George is now finished and I don't think Chicago is that great of a team and that's probably Cleveland's biggest challenge.
He could get away with a finals loss to San Antonio or OKC year 1. I think this Cleveland team will be hungry. No one other than James has won a title and he MUST win one for his hometown at some point or his legacy is SHOT. I don't see the Clippers making it but I could see OKC or SA defeating them in the finals for sure.
