What was the NHL before expansion? Next.... m. Thanks for your smart a@$$ remarks Captain Obvious. I am not talking about a league 100 years ago, I am talking about current leagues. You would think that after awarding the Grey Cup in the CFL for 50+ years they would have more than 9 teams. Sure, a league may start out with only a few teams much like the NHL did, but it grew. CFL is a joke.

? Ya Canada really isnèt big enough to have much more than 9 or 10 teams thatès why the League is so small. If you can think of places to put teams where they might actually work and another franchise wonèt veto it be my guest and suggest where to put them.

CFL in america could be the worst league decision in history And i actually support the CFL adding an american team (id like to see Anchorage Alaska), but man putting teams in the american south? without a name change for the league? dumb It worked in baltimore for what ever reason. I think it worked in Baltimore because the CFL cashed in on the lingering resentment that came from the Colts departure. m.

More power to those who prefer 4 down football but there's a lot of us who like the 3 down Canadian variety. m.

I understand the frustration with a 9 team league but as people just said, it's the CANADIAN football league, there are really only so many markets so such is life. The CFL isn't perfect but complaining about the size of the league itself is just pointless.

Bettman is downplaying the expansion talk again, saying the BoG arenèt going to vote on them at the next meeting.

The cfl could reasonably expand to 12 teams. 1 team in Atlantic Canada, 1 team in quebec city. the 12th team is where you have to get creative I think you can consider American Cities but it cant be a major american city. Thats why id look to a place like Anchorage. If the Riders were ok with it a team in Saskatoon and Regina could maybe work. too bad there arent enough people in western Ontario.

Honestly I see room for a team in Atlantic Canada and then that's it. A second team in Saskatchewan wouldn't play second fiddle to the Riders - it'd be playing 18th ukelele. Or second banjo. It's a moot point though since the Riders would veto a second team regardless. But 10 teams would be a nice round number. I'd promote that idea if I could.

I understand its an odd number. I hate the idea of divisions in the CFL anyway, just do a single table top 2 play for the title at the end.

I would go with Qubec and Halifax , and Maybe Victoria B.C .
