This thread is dedicated to the Brandon Wheat Kings, who finished with the best record in the WHL. The Wheaties thrashed the defending Memorial Cup Champions Edmonton Oil Kings 8-1 after being upset 4-1 in Game 1.

Well with the Wheat Kings up 3 games to 1, the Oil Kings are trying to starve off elimination. Right now, it's 2-2 in Overtime. If the Wheat Kings can knock off the defending Memorial Cup champions, I think they can go all the way to the WHL Final and beyond.

Brandon got by the defending Memorial Cup Champions Edmonton Oil Kings relatively easily. I think Regina will be not as big as a challenge. I'm going with Brandon in 5 games.

The Wheat Kings won both games at home by scores of 5-1 and 5-2, to go up 2-0 in the series against the Regina Pats. Hopefully they can split the games in Regina, and seal the deal back in Brandon.

I really enjoy following the Wheaties...but I find it difficult..little or no coverage in the local media...I feel bad for those from Brandon who have to Rely on Winnipeg TV (RIP CKX TV) pretty much just the Brandon Sun and Local radio...

I don't know what is the deal with closing the only local TV station in a city that has over 50,000 people and growing. They did the same thing in Red Deer in 2009, yet the city's population is expected to hit 100,000 people this year.

Totally agree.. it was sad when the CBC decided not to renew its licence in Brandon.. I grew up watching CKX it was a really unique hybrid of a CBC/independent station..

Well the Wheaties and Pats are in a 2-2 tie, with 3:00 left in the game. Brandon has outshot Regina 45-24, and 17-4 in the third. Looks like the goalie of Regina is standing on his head. I guess it looks like the game is going to OT> Too bad there is no TV converge I can obtain.

The Wheat Kings win the series 4-1, and will play Calgary Hitmen, if they win tonight against Medicine Hat. The game is going into 2OT. Edit: Calgary defeated Medicine Hat in 2OT, and win the series 4-1. Eastern Conference Final:BRANDON WHEAT KINGS vs CALGARY HITMEN

Calgary vs Brandon is a huge rivalry. Should be a good series and hopefully we destroy them.
