Hey everyone. A bunch of us were enjoying a few wobbly pops after a rec hockey game and the subject of bars came yup. Huge argument/debaet followed about a bar that existed in the 90's.
It was located down town, near what was the original spaghetti factory...So I'm guessing, it was on McDiarmid or another one of those streets that ran east/west. The bar was WEST of Main street. Here is what is important. The bar was several stories high. One floor played Rock, the other played country and on one floor it was all pool tables. It was at least 3 stories high. and each floor was it's disctinct type of music. They would have live bands play on one of the floors.
Can anyone help me out on this?

Pretty sure you're thinking of Planet X, right now Into The Music is in that building.

The A was a regular in my college bar tour rotation. Early on it was Diamond Club and Club Taboo in the north end, Norma Jean's downtown, and Club Soda when we headed east.
Anyone remember Night Moves or the Rorie Street Marble Club?

Turned 18 in 93, I heard of Night Moves and Marble club, not sure if they were around in 93 but I did not visit. Did the Diamond club turn to Zaxx? if not what was Zaxx on Jefferson called before? My post secondary tours were Scandals, Monty's, Palladium, Pemby, Club Euphoria the purple bar, ha ha Boogie nights, Zaxx, A, Charlie. Crazy bar, Georgies! don't forget dirty Dale, Bumpers, teasers. all those downtown ones, bank, wise guys, the roxy, iceworks.
Yikes, looking back, I think I drank too much 18-22. my poor liver

Rorie Street Marble Club was gone by the time I was hitting the bars in '91. Same as Night Moves.

Club Taboo - Zaxx's Club Soda - U4IA Don't remember them being anything but Zaxx's or U4IA, as I was too young to get in. Also hit up Scandals, the Palladium, the A, Monty's, and on occasion, the Exchange district bars.

Man! Memories in all of those places. The Pyramid was pretty good too. I had a lot of success out of that place With the exception of smashed car windows, Pyramid has had some really good shows. I totally forgot about the Junkyard, saw I Mother Earth there and witnessed one of the greatest shows! Furnace Face, which rocked and had Moist open up for them which did not really rock. Then Le Rondez-vous, how ever you spell it, had some kick ass shows, Sloan was one to remember. I love shows in smaller Venues, The Burt is getting Air Conditioning!
