I believe you have a typo in the poll question. Instead of tarding I think you mean turding - as in turding the bed for the first pick. In which case, my answer is yes, do it. Turds away!

I think the Oilers would really be open to trading Matthews for a d man like Trouba. They badly need top four dmen and they have a lot of skilled forwards.
On the other hand what a three center lineup: Draisaitl centering the first, Matthews the second and Nuge the third.

That leaves McDavid to center the 4th line!

If the Oilers win the draft lottery again, the team should be dismantled, and the players dispersed through a contraction draft. It's a shame McDavid and company will be ruined by such an inept organization.

We can't trade Trouba and not get a quality defenseman back. Yes, year 3 hasn't been as good as year 2 and year 1. A lot of Jets can say that. He's taken too many penalties and his point totals are down. But he's still only -1 on the year, he's still often anchored to Mark Stuart and most important he's only 21/22 yet. We don't have a lot of depth at defense of real quality. To get rid of this guy would be madness at this point. I wouldn't be giving him the huge long term deal at this point either, but I'm very reluctant to just give away a young defenseman with as high a ceiling as he still has. If you want to trade him, fine, but it has to be for a Hamonic or someone similar. Otherwise just get that bridge deal done and see in 2/3 years.

This is now year 1 of a rebuild and it will be accelerated because of the youth but they still have to deal with the bad contracts from the previous regime. Such as Fayne, Nikitin, Ference, Schultz(horrible defensemen for a guy who had so much potential can't even play in his own end), Nugent Hopkins, Purcell, Pouliot plus they are paying Scrivens not to play for the Oilers this year as well. So even with new management there hands were tied this season look for the summer and draft for quite a few move for the Oilers. Yes Kevin Lowe was quite inept in managing a hockey organization but you can't blame past management on the current management. Don't care which organization it is.

I think for the right defenseman the Oilers pick would be available, so before the lottery happens, I would offer Enstrom, Pardy, Jets 2016 2nd round pick and there 2017 1st round pick, for Hall and Edmontons 2016 1st round pick and roll the dice!

That explains why the Oilers are battling it out for last place this year..... PS...the Oilers have been in "rebuild" mode since 2007. It's going on a decade. Face it, the Oilers are now the worst run organization in the NHL, Lowe or no Lowe. You are the one that does not have a clue. Where have you been for the past decade?

By the sounds of it you have no clue. Yes it has been run into the ground with Kevin Lowe but Bob, Peter and Todd will do a great job. All great hockey people and not part of the old boys club. This is year one with those guys and they will do a superb job in the first 3 years of running that organization. Starting with the 2015/2016 NHL season to the 2017/2018 season.

Same old song and dance.
Ever since the Oilers drafted Taylor Hall first overall in 2010, the fans keep chiming year after year, that the Oilers will be a contender. It never happens. This was supposed to be a breakout season for Edmonton, but they again find themselves dead last in the NHL. Keep dreaming about your Oilers finally getting over the hump, and becoming a powerhouse. It's never going to happen, as long as Katz owns the team.

My opinion, Leafs win the lottery, trade the pick to Phoenix for Domi and their first. Matthews is a Phoenix born player. Toronto LOVES the Domi. I can see this happening.

It really sickens me that two of my three most hated teams are the most likely to get the #1 pick. Leafs just shut down Lupol and JVR. The definition of tanking. They've already been dressing an AHL roster. Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice
