Amazing, the Raiders are potentially, and I emphasize potentially, playoff bound. But if they miss their moment so to speak how will the fans and team reflect or react to the blown call at 2:05 of the Jags game. Yes they bungled the last 2 minutes of the game. But that was a consequence of being forced into a first and 15, no time run off which saved a time out for the Jags and made for a pass attempt. They would've turned the ball over to the Jags at worst with some 40 seconds left on the clock and no time outs. The Jags would not have scored. So in essence one could easily argue the one blown call cost the Raiders a playoff game and its payoff. Amazing turn and emphasizes how important blown calls are in sports. Everyone criticizes CFL refs but really it's a problem in all sports. I agree with Chuckie that should have been reviewable and hope it will be moving forward. If the Raiders lose on Sunday it matters not. But for the Raiders fans it's a what if ending to a season that should've, could've, been different.

Didn't realize the Raiders had a shot after the Jags loss. It's all a moot point now EVERYTHING has gone wrong today, the Titans won and clinched the last spot, the Steelers lost and the Jags beat the Colts. Derrick Henry is a monster for the Titans. Raiders also lost after Denver tried to give away the game. LOVE the call by Gruden. Ya, they lost but what b@lls and a PERFECT Oakland Raider way to go out after the home debacle. Raiders made strides this year with a pretty good draft and have 2 number 1's. I don't think Carr is the answer at QB. The need more help at linebacker, WR, secondary and a new kicker.

Yeah that is huge. I wished they were still playing instead of playing the draft board. That said it's time they left and play in the night lights of Vegas in 2020. Hopefully they handle it as well as the Knights and the NHL have managed their situation. Imagine if you have an AB and an OBJ (to name two free spirits, to be kind) and a coaching staff like Kitchens in place. Gong show! As a guy who has watched the Raiders since the Heidi Game I feel for the real Oakland supporters who paid their money and supported the team through thick and thin but it's all about the money and Oakland doesn't have enough. Vegas has oodles.
Funny thing the football seafaring Raiders/Pirates have moved inland to loot and pillage. They'll have to moor their boots at ath Hoover Dam. LOLđ´ââ ď¸ Long live the Raiders.

I don't consider Antonio Brown a free spirit. His problem is he has CTE. I think most of the players will handle it fine. Trouble makers will cause trouble no matter what market so it comes down to going after guys with character and who like football. If the Raiders would have got in they would have been out instantly. Too many holes yet despite the great draft of a year ago. Wasn't worth chasing fools gold for a lame duck season. I don't know if I feel sorry for what remains of the Oakland fan base or not. The LA move destroyed a lot of the fan base along with the inept ownership from both father and son when they returned. There were too many Raider fans who didn't realize that no market can build 2 billion dollar stadiums for 2 separate football teams. The Giants and Jets share, the same with the LA teams(though the Chargers belong back in San Diego). If they were going to stay the only option was to share with the 49ers and too big of a chunk of fans absolutely didn't want that and even favored a move instead. Father and son didn't want to share either and never pursued it seriously. So that's that.

Mike I used free spirit as a euphemism compared to a more negative term that might more correctly apply. Other characters that would have had issues in Vegas as a player resident would be Johnny Money and Pacman Jones. AB has CTE? Didn't know that. But isnt it only diagnosed by post-mortem study of the brain? Reliable ante-mortem markers are being sought but there isn't a surefire way to do so at this time. Or so I thought. But it wouldn't surprise me. I can still see him getting nailed by Burfict in as a cheap dirty hellacious hit as I've seen. Yeah ownership of the Raiders ran roughshod over the locals but many hung in there despite being jerked around. I did some business with a fellow in Alameda (right by Oakland) and his passion for the Raiders transcended all the BS until they announced their move to Vegas. Then he was done.

Your right CTE can only be diagnosed post-mortem but all the signs are there by how he is behaving. I would be absolutely 100% shocked if he didn't have it. www.google.com/search?q=antonio+brown+cte&rlz=1C1NHXL_enUS738US738&oq=antonio+brown+cte&aqs=chrome..69i57.4287j1j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

PSL sales at Raidersâ Las Vegas Stadium soar $228M over projectionsThe budget for personal seat license sales at the Raidersâ Allegiant Stadium has increased by $228 million over original estimates. Initially projected to bring in $250 million, better than forecast sales have led the Raiders to increase the PSL budget by 91.2 percent to $478 million, according to the latest financial report provided by the Las Vegas Stadium Authority. All of that $478 million has been infused into the $2 billion, 65,000-seat stadium. The increased budget has allowed the Raiders to add new features such as additional suites, a 26,000-square-foot field-level club, upgraded fixtures and art and an upgraded internet connection.A total of 126 suites will be featured in Allegiant Stadium. The Raidersâ PSLs ranged from $500 to $75,000 and are 99 percent sold out according to Raiders president Marc Badain. The Raiders have a PSL wait list at Allegiant Stadiumâs website. A PSL gives the person who purchases a specific seat in the stadium exclusive rights to buy Raiders home game season tickets thereafter. The PSL fee is only due once, but holders are required to purchase seats each season. If a person fails to maintain season tickets, his or her PSL can be revoked and sold to someone else. PSL holders can transfer their seats or sell them to another party, but they are non-refundable by the Raiders. The PSLs will be among the many items discussed at Thursdayâs stadium authority board meeting. www.reviewjournal.com/business/stadium/psl-sales-at-raiders-las-vegas-stadium-soar-228m-over-projections-1933419/

Raiders stadium roof wonât be done until May; facilityâs summer opening on trackThe translucent roof of Allegiant Stadium â a signature feature of the $2 billion, 65,000-seat football stadium â isnât expected to be installed until mid-May, months later than originally planned. Representatives of the Raiders say that despite the delay, the stadium is still on track to open July 31 with the first event there on Aug. 16. However, an independent monitor has expressed concern about the stadium being completed by that date.Team officials are expected to offer details of the installation of the roof, which initially was scheduled for completion by fall, when the Las Vegas Stadium Authority meets Thursday. The independent monitor working for the authority board raised concerns about the lifting of the cable net system supporting the lightweight EFTE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) roof in a report completed in early December. Representatives of Las Vegas-based Grand Canyon Development Partners acknowledged that installation of the roof is not on the critical path to finishing the stadium. But the companyâs report expressed concern that, because the venue wonât be completely enclosed, rainy weather could damage some of the finish work that has been completed ahead of schedule.âBecause of the delay in the overall building enclosure, there is the possibility of weather damage as more finish work is put in place,â the report says. âOur assessment is that the TCO (temporary certificate of occupancy) date may be in jeopardy if weather (rain) causes damage to interior finishes. Of the many possible situations and potential delays that a project of this size and complexity can experience, the cable-net delay is one that attracts attention because of its distinctiveness.â
Details coming Thursday Don Webb, chief operating officer of the Raidersâ subsidiary building the stadium, declined on Monday to add any details, saying he would discuss them with the authority board Thursday. âThe construction remains on target for substantial completion on July 31, 2020,â Webbâs November project status report, posted online last week, says. âThe project schedule, which tracks more than 41,000 individual tasks, shows some activities to be ahead of schedule and some behind,â his report says. âThis condition is completely normal. The completion of the cable net system supporting the ETFE roof is a task which fell behind. Fortunately, even if it were to be further delayed, its completion does not affect the overall project completion since the dependent, successor tasks are not on the critical path.â Contractors building the stadium prepared last summer to lift the cable net, which is designed to support the translucent roof panels, to the top of the stadium. Grand Canyon reported work âwas suspended pending resolution of challenges created as a result of overstressing the stadiumâs structural members.â Five engineering firms have worked to modify the system to attach the cable net to the compression ring at the top of the stadium. In its current report, Grand Canyon said the project team has revised its procedures to address those issues and that the changes have caused a delay in excess of 60 days, pushing the roof completion to mid-May. While delays pushed the cable lift through fall and into winter, Webb maintained that the stadium would be completed on time because other projects that were to be completed later in the schedule were getting finished earlier. Among the projects ahead of schedule are lower bowl precast installation for seating, the four lanai doors on the north end of the stadium opening toward the Strip, support framing for the torch feature honoring former Raiders owner Al Davis, framing and drywall for suites and secondary steel for scoreboard supports. Workers also have begun building the field tray and grass field that will be moved into the stadium for Raiders games. Finances on track Financially, the stadium also is on track. According to reports that will be reviewed by the authority board, monthly room tax collections for the first five months of the fiscal year are 3.3 percent ahead of collections from the same five months in the 2019 fiscal year. Since room tax collections began in March 2017 through November, the 0.88 percentage-point increase in the tax has collected $136.2 million, 0.1 percent off the projected amount. Last week, the Review-Journal reported better-than-expected sales of personal seat licenses for Raiders tickets. After forecasting revenue of $250 million in PSL sales earlier, the team raised the budget to $478 million as the completion of sales draws near, all of which is going to additional amenities and features at the stadium. The Raiders also are expected to provide an update on parking and mobility on Thursday. www.reviewjournal.com/business/stadium/raiders-stadium-roof-wont-be-done-until-may-facilitys-summer-opening-on-track-1934982/

I am quite familiar with LV and while it's in the desert and thought to be dry, torrential downpours do happen. One year recently, the I-15 was washed out near LV and the torrents of water swept cars into ravines. So if there are items that are potentially damaged by rain they will have to prepare for it. But Davis is probably doing the hand washing motion with all the money the stadium is bringing in. Hopefully the on field product matches the hype.

I really hope they have a dry year and the stadium can open on time. I think the Raiders could get a wild card if they go WR/LB with the 1st round picks and don't get a goofy schedule with a stadium delay. But maybe it's best to take a QB and give up on Carr though such a move would make them worse for sure in the short term. The Raiders biggest problem is going to be they are in the worst division possible for the next 10-15 years. The biggest star/best player is most likely on the Chiefs and he is only 24 years old. Leaving Oakland for more money/ a fan base that can fill an upper deck of a stadium won't solve the Mahomes problem.

Interesting facts. 1981 was the Raiders last year in Oakland before going to LA. The 49ers won the super bowl that year. They won again in 1984, 1988, 1989 and in 1994 the year before the Raiders moved back to Oakland. Now the Raiders leave and the 49ers have at least made it again in the Raiders last Oakland season before going to Vegas. History says they win but the KC is a 1 pt favorite and I don't think anyone can beat Mahomes. I predict whatever the result it will be one of the greatest super bowls ever!
