Tories have sent province backwards in just 100 days: NDP

In its early days, Manitoba's Tory government has set the province on a path to income disparity, environmental risk and reduced diversity, the official opposition claims. NDP interim leader Flor Marcelino alleged that in the first 100 days of governance, officially marked Thursday, the Progressive Conservatives made questionable decisions. "One of the first things (Premier Brian Pallister) did is to give himself and his cabinet a big raise, at the same time he refuses to raise the minimum wage," said Marcelino.
The government didn't actually grant a raise per se, but didn't cut cabinet ministers' pay this year for failing to balance the budget. That cut isn't required for a new government, which receives a one-year grace period on balancing the books. Wab Kinew, the NDP's representative on reconciliation issues, said he's particularly concerned about the province's two political appointments to the Winnipeg Police Board.
"At a time of an inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women, they removed an indigenous woman from the police board without replacing that person with another female indigenous voice," said Kinew. "At a time of Black Lives Matter, they removed a female person of colour from the board without replacing them with another person from that perspective."
Environment critic Rob Altemeyer added that the province hasn't taken action since the City of Winnipeg announced it won't meet a December 2019 deadline on a $795-million upgrade to the North End sewage treatment plant. The last provincial government ordered the work to remove nitrogen and phosphorous from the plant's effluent, as those nutrients fuel algae growth in Lake Winnipeg.
"This government has turned its blind eye and not said anything to that," said Altemeyer.

To recap:
1. The NDP, after 17 years in office, expect that the Conservatives will ruin the province after 100 days (which has not happened).
2. The Conservatives have not led Manitoba to income disparity after 100 freaking days.
3. What "environmental risk" and "reduced diversity" is the NDP talking about?
4. NDP is already jumping on the new Government for "not increasing minimum wage, even though they probably ahven't had time to look at the issue.
5. Wab Kinew (who rapped about women being whore and bitches), complains about Aboriginals not being properly represented on the Police board. I guess he doesn't believe in "best person for the job" also how is this the fault of the PC Party?
6. Kinew actually seems to praise "Black Lives Matter" a racist organization based in the USA, who have caused riots, ethnic divisions, and advocated violence against Police Officers, even during a peaceful Gay parade in Toronto.
Wow.
Just wow.
First off, maybe someone in the media should ask how the NDP in Alberta have done in the 15 months they ahve been in office.
The NDP in Alberta want to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour, despite the worst recession in 35 years. It may also force many small businesses to close, as they can't afford to pay the staff that much, further raising the unemployment rate.
The Alberta NDP wants to move away from Oil and Gas, to environmentally "friendly" resources, despite other governments having tried that and failed for 50 years.
How did these clowns stay in office for nearly 20 years, and who kept voting them in?
