I have a bad feeling that Stanley is going to be the new Boris Valabik. In case you ahve never heard of Valabik, he was the Thrashers first round pick in 2004, 10th overall. His frame was impressive- 6'7, 231. Valabik career stats: www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=76915However, he could just not cut it in the NHL. After debuting in 2008, he went on to play 80 career NHL games, before being exiled to Europe. Stanley and Valabik were both huge defensemen, who were not afraid to throw down the gloves. However, will Stanley eclipse Valabik, or is he destined to be a first round flop?

Who knows, I think I trust Jets scouts more than I would have trusted Thrashers scouts. I haven't seen him play much but what I have seen is a player who has more hockey skill than I expected, seems quite capable of making a clean breakout pass for example.
I also saw was a kid who has a ton of work to do to skate like a pro...then again, same was said about Scheif back in 2011/2012/2013. No guarantee Stanley will ever get there...the way he skates now it's hard to see him anchoring any pairing.
My prediction (fingers crossed), he'll be a Jet in 2018/19 season and a pretty good one in 2019/2020.

Valabik or worse is my prediction. The indicators are all there to point to that end game.

Really think this was a terrible 1st round pick. Woulda gone for Bellows or traded up further to get Chychrun that kid is gunna be top notch in a few years. Hope Stanley proves me wrong but smells like a bust from miles away

His first game back after injury was average, but after that, wow. Since being drafted by the Jets, the indication we've seen, to the contrary, is he will be a Jet and this was a good pick.

This coming year will be telling. Memorial Cup = small sample size but even there he showed some questionable decision making. Oh well, that draft will be remembered for the Laine pick first and foremost. That alone made it a win - it was like winning $5000 your first morning in Vegas. After that you're playing with the house's money. m.

Watched his first game back. Thought he played ok but I just hope he keeps developing and maturing so he can skate with men not just the boys. Seems intelligent enough a player, sometimes those big guys are never able to have success at and AHL/NHL level

His play warrants confidence.

Stanley was horrible last night. He was like a pylon. It does not look good. I hope he improves his style.

Well I take it back about the comparison with Boris Valabik. Valabik never really improved on his draft year, and was a bit of a goon. Stanley has definitely improved from when the Jets drafted him. The question now is will long will it take him to shape into a player who is NHL ready. My prediction is 2019.

Stanley is currently in an elimination game with Kitchener down 3 games to 2 in the OHL final series. He has 14 pts in 18 playoff games ( top scoring D-man on Kitchener). From the write-ups he is doing very well. If they get eliminated today and the Moose win, it would be interesting if he gets added to the Moose's playoff roster.

Logan Stanley has receded this season, and has been injured. Turning 22, the future does not look bright. Many said the Jets made a huge mistake by trading their #2 round pick to move up a few sports in 2016 draft. They have been vindicated. Stanley is not an NHL player.
