The Jets really need to bring in whomever helped Hellebuyck tune up his game- not only for Hutch but also for their whole goaltending stable.

There should be decent demand out there for goalies and Hutch couldn't be hotter, so I think he'll go before Christmas.

Michael Hutchinson, named the AHL goalie of the month in November, won his seventh straight start.
He stopped all 27 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the year and improve to 9-1-1. Hutchinson sports a 1.73 goals-against average and .951 save percentage.

Not sure what the brass is waiting for. Comrie will always be called up 1st due to waivers.

I believe Chevy spoke strongly about creating a winning culture in both the NHL and AHL for the organization. If Hutch helps bring that and allows for a deep playoff run for the Moose, and perhaps a Calder Cup, that would very much benefit those players who would be involved with that. Trading Hutch for a third round draft pick (not sure it would be much higher than that) and possibly sabotaging that might not be worth the trade off, at least not for Chevy.

He's still an RFA when his contract expires is he not? The Jets would still have his rights. This gives them some leverage not to trade him until the season is up.

And right now he has value.
