Are we still convinced Trouba is going? I'm not. He'll still be RFA this summer, and if we become a successful playoff team this year (still an if, but looking promising right now) why wouldn't he want to stay?
As for Hutch, he's having a great AHL season, but I'm unconvinced that any NHL team would be that interested.

The Jets have a n enviable situation: not only is Hutch doing very well down on the farm but Chiarot has been very steady as Enstrom's replacement and we have the promising Poolman hovering in the wings. Enstrom and Hutchinson plus maybe a throw-in like Petan ought to make an attractive package to a team in need as well as unloading Enstrom's considerable salary.

That makes sense and since there is only half a season or thereabouts remaining on Enstrom's contract it would be a good playoff move for a team that is looking for a puck moving dman. We already have enough of those.

Lots of scuttle yesterday that the Oilers need to go for either Pickard or Hutch so maybe something might happen.

Apparently Hutch injured his groin on Saturday just when his trade value is at maximum

You are correct, location, location, location, and this place and country does not work for him, Girlfriend can't get into school here, dad can't cross the border to see him play, it's not personnel it's just life. The Travis Hamonic strait up deal is looking pretty good now, and I don't think we will do any better then that trade now unless we add another piece.

He's still cheap and only gets arbitration right. Also, the max deal from Arb is 2 yrs. Chevy will have no problem moving him. The Jets have him for the renainder of this season, and 2 more. Very appealling to teams.

Max deal can't be less than 85% of his current salary so that would be about 2.4 million. But it is rare these things actually go to arbitration. 30 filed last year (including Helle) only one went ahead. Vegas for Nate Schmidt wanted 950,000 and 1 million for the remaining two years. He wanted 1 year for 2.75 million. He got two years at 2.25 per.
If it goes to arbitration his lawyer will ask for, what, 6 million plus? Jets will offer a lot less.Arbitrator clearly will give him a lot more than he is making now I'd suggest close to the 6 million mark. Likely would be for two more years. The arbitration should be the clear signal for the Jets to trade him as the receiving team will be getting the fair market value of the player for two years.
