Good day,
Been a Mts (Bell) customer for a solid 15 years now. With respect to TV, Internet and Home Phone; which company is better?
My Landline price went up last invoice and now I'm paying $200 ish including tax. (basic TV) with TSN Jets and Sportsnet package only.
Shaw has an unbelievable deal for the same items for $80 plus tax for 12 months then a regular price which is lower than the current MTS price.
Its a no-brainer to take the Shaw deal as even the internet speeds are faster!.
I just have a nagging little voice who seems to be a bit of a MTS fan causing doubt, any concerns with Shaw?
Thanks!

Since I bought my house at 23, I've given MTS 2 chances. Both times came with immediate regret.
Considering location and infrastructure, Shaw has never caused me issues, barring the odd outage that you'll get with any carrier. I'm talking a 60 yr old home, a 30 and a new.
I'm also paying 70 a month for 2 theme packs, high speed 75 and basic phone.
Shaw has been as good as I could ever expect.

Ooma for the home phone ($4.50 a month, works great), satellite TV still seems like the way to go, BellMTS internet - soon to change over to Shaw.

Im with Bell MTS, when I saw the deal Shaw had, I called MTS and asked what they would do to keep a long time customer (15 years) from Switching.
They beat the Shaw deal so I am $70 per month plus tax for the next year

MTS over here. It's been rock solid - we're in a new area and have fibre optic service so I've been enjoying 150 mbps speeds and almost never have an outage. Literally once or twice in 4+ years.

Well looks like I'm making the switch. I guess I wasn't a long enough customer because all I was offered was more TV services with a $40 credit for only 6 months, too bad not getting the $70 deal USAPegger got. Oh well, not even a Manitoban company any longer. I just can't pass up on that deal!

...and Shaw threw in HBO and Crave TV for free for 2 months in addition to that $80/deal...

This '75 can handle that or do you get lots of buffering?

Surprising, why they would let an established customer go is beyond me. really stupid, you are correct though, not local anymore

Been with MTS for the last few years, Shaw prior to that. I’m thinking of switching back to Shaw sometime this year.

That's with 2 kids streaming all the time.

Day after Shaw Installs, MTS calls...They offered $60/mo for 6 months free install. I declined. then 10 Min before i was heading to the game, doorbell rings and its MTS again! $60/mo for a year! I declined as I was feeling this was starting to become a gong show, but mentioned that nothing stopping me from coming back in a year. But Geeze, why not give me the deal when I called the first time!!! Do people call all the time with threats to switch? The guy on the phone didn't seem to care when I told them I was switching, then after the switch they waste resources like sending someone down to my house offering me a sweet deal.

From both companies actually. Shaw did the same thing. Wait till we cancel to offer us the best deal. Seems like we switch back and forth every year and a half. I never lock into a contract, but I’ve noticed both are asking for contracts at this time.

All my services are same or better than they were with MTS for less than half the price for the first 6 months. Even after 6 months and paying the full price Im saving money for better service. After reading the fine print looks like the cancellation fee is $20/month .to cancel early which isnt terrible if MTS comes at me with a great deal

My $63 package is not a contract, and I'll call back when it expires and get a good price. As long as someone is aggressive like Bell, Shaw has always given me deep discounts.
