Reports that jets were in on brassard and apparently vegas is retaining 40% of his salary so that he wouldn't come here. Can't make this up!

Poor Chevy. First he has to deal with players not wanting to come here. Now other teams are making deals cuz they are scared of the Jets. Not sure how he sleeps at night ?

The first chance that the Jets get to play Vegas is in the conference finals.. the 3rd round of the playoffs. .. The price of Brassard was pretty extreme... moreso for the Jets than the Penguins as the Jets first round pick will likely be a NHL player in 2-3 years. (the curse of drafting well) The Penguins gave up Ian Cole who was a regular d-man in their last 2 SC runs 19 min / game last year and 16 Minutes the year before. Have to figure the Penguins weak spot is defense depth

Pens have strengthened all four lines which already were scoring regularly - 6th overall just behind the Jets. They get in Brassard a good third line center about in the category of a Little.

I'm sure it's the first time something like this has happened, and of course, the Jets get screwed by it. Reminds of the high stick last yr that cut a Jets lip, their was blood on his finger tips and the ref still only gave 2 mins.

Lots of the “experts” are saying Jets are fine as is. I’m divided. The playoffs are a different beast than the regular season.

Tough call....will take a rental but lets not throw away any prospects or future picks unless it is a sound deal....This sounds crazy. but i think teams are starting to see we have some major talent here and don't want to make us stronger with a deadline trade.

Yeah. On the pre-game show yesterday one of the panelists, which is my opinion also, stated status quo. Draft and develop. Not an easy process but the picks are starting to add up in their value. In terms of future prospects, look at Jets Kristian Vesalainen drafted 24th in the first last year. The kid is a natural center, 6'03", 207 lbs, 18 and he's tearing up the Finnish elite league with HPK Hameenlinna. Can you imagine Vesalainen between Laine and Ehlers. Start drooling. So I think the status quo unless of course you've drafted and the person may not fit in - Petan is a good example of that. As a centerman, he has no chance of breaking this lineup. Maybe as a winger. But he'll bring you just so much value.

Keep hearing Petans name. If he's not part of a package they will get no value back for him. If 2 goalies didn't get hurt they could have used one in a package(Hutch).

I can see petan and a pick for either a 3rd line center or a Dman like Cole. Possibly upgrade chariot and Enstrom at the same time. Although I am hearing mcdonough which would be bigger. I don't mind a future pick but would hate to get rid of much more than that. If Lowery is ok the center isn't as big but I'm worried about his durability.
