The playoffs are all but made by the jets When would you start resting guys not en mass but Nashville style with a player missing a game or two?

The 100 point mark is a magic number for this organization. They're two points away. Jets 1.0 never reached 100 pts in the 17 years they were in the NHL. Closest they came was 96 points in 84-85 (most of these seasons were 80 game seasons). In the WHA the Jets reached 100+ points twice. Both those seasons they won the AVCO Cup.
The Jets are two points away from that magic number. I would suggest they put every effort in until the last game of the season.

Assuming we get past the first two rounds, there would be value in finishing ahead of Vegas to gain home ice advantage in round 3. If that is a consideration, it has to be balanced with rest/health for rounds one and two.

Position means a lot I'd settle for second in division not worried about Vegas. With the way players are dropping I wouldn't be mad if some were given maintenance days down the stretch. Bring up guys like Lemieux.

I'd add that I only want to see that for guys who are carrying niggling injuries or are fatigued. There's no reason to not play guys who are 100%. Why ruin line chemistry etc right before playoffs if guys are good to go.

I think they have to walk a fine line as guys like Wheeler , Little and Perrault could probably use some games off to rest but some guys need to keep playing to stay in the zone such as Buff, Chariot and 4th line guys who don’t play as much. I would think the last 2 or 3 games the ‘stars’ will be watching from the press box. Can’t believe they are even in a position to consider it!

The last two years some posters on here saying never quit - whether they dropped in the draft or not. Maurice wins seven straight last year and the Jets dropped in the draft. The year before the team won several games in a row to end the season - and ended up getting Laine.
There should be no low brow bringing in Matthias etc. End strong for the most part - maybe the LAST game pull the reigns in but frankly if it was good enough to end strong in non-playoff years it's no different - end the year in strength. Injuries can happen anytime. Even in practice.

unless a guy comes out and says it will help him and he needs a rest, or he has a nagging injury, really not sure how much a difference it actually makes.

Maurice said today they would only be resting on as needed basis. Guys aren't coming out if they aren't tired or hurt. Although maybe tonight we should use the whole Moose lineup in case Marchand is feeling like he hasn't injured someone lately.
