I would be OK without the whiteout. It's been copied by other teams as well as changed colours along the way so it's not original anymore. Even though it started here. It would also suck if I could not wear my home jersey to home games. Then again, I didn't live in Winnipeg during Jets 1.0 so I never got to experience it. Was it a whiteout at every home game or just a few here and there based on who we were playing? Only playoff games.

Yes, I was alive in those days, died for about 16 years, then was reborn ...

I was in attendance for a few whiteouts including Elliot's double overtime goal against the Oilers.

I've got an Jets 1.0 home jersey, I think I'm covered either way.
Also I went to a ton of Jets games back in the day. I was even there when Selanne scored a hat-trick on Fiset and broke the rookie record!

I was a kid in Chicago when Bobby Hull signed with the Jets. I say whiteout all the way, wonder when the NHL will do the switch again with home wearing white.
Oh one other thing, I can't stand Jets1.0 and Jets 2.0. It's Jets period as far as I am concerned.

I believe that the home team can wear what ever jersey they want to...be that an light coloured "Home" or dark "away". It is simply that the Official home jersey is dark and the official home Jersey is white. Perhaps the Jets could have a tradition of wearing the official home (Dark) jersey through the regular season and have the Whites as their playoff jersey?

The difference between our whiteout and today's colour outs are we had our own clothing not free giveaways, I believe we also may have had to pay for a Whiteout T-shirt.

Expect a whiteout. Others have tried but failed.

I'm pretty sure the Canucks said that they'd wear their 3rd jerseys (the 70's throwbacks) for stanley cup games when they introduced them? I think any team can wear what they like as long as they clear it with the league beforehand so the other team can switch their jerseys.

I'm hard-core pro-Whiteout. My seats are right over the aisle in 205 and, if the home opener is a whiteout, I'm planning on having a sign on the railing saying: [glow=red,2,300]The Winnipeg Whiteout The Original And Best![/glow] m.
