thanks for this. I agree, the criticism has been ridiculous. sure, there could have been better designs, but you can say that with any logo or team. for what it represents and symbolises, it's great (in my opinion anyway)

I am willing to bet that most of these so-called "peace" activists are just complaining because they are not the ones in power. I once attended an anti-war conference in 2003, days before the US invaded Iraq, and I was disgusted at the hatred and infighting between the various groups that attended.
The military is just a convenient target to channel their anger towards. Otherwise, they would be hating each other.

I'm actually surprised that there hasn't been much (to my knowledge) criticism of the New Jersey Devils name from certain (not all) religious types.

I'm actually surprised that there hasn't been much (to my knowledge) criticism of the New Jersey Devils name from certain (not all) religious types. I know a Christian person who is a Rangers fan because he said that he can't root for a team called the Devils. As a Christian myself, I'm fine with it though. I doubt that guy even watches hockey that much anyway. They're named after the Jersey Devil, an animal said to have a horse face, deer antlers, wings, etc. that supposedly lives in the Pine Barrens in Southern NJ. It's merely a part of the state.

The logo is fantastic. When I first saw it I loved it and I like it more every time I see it.
These people that are complaining because of the link to the air force don't have a clue how good they have it because of the air force and other military divisions. But these are probably the same people that start rioting when someone steps on an ant or buys a fur coat

I have also heard people say they don't like that New Jersey is called the Devils. I thought it was dumb.
I was only furious that Miroslav Satan never played for them! I would have bought that jersey and I don't care about New Jersey at all! Too perfect!

I would have bought that jersey and I don't care about New Jersey at all! Too perfect! A Miroslav Satan New Jersey Devils jersey (especially if it had the numbers "666") would have been tempting for many to buy to say the least! I'm sure it will be a bestseller if that ever happened as even non-hockey fan Metalheads, Satanists, Occult-loving fellas and etc would have bought the jerseys just because...
