There could be up to three positions available I would suggest. Put any other names in there you would suggest. Copp is up for grabs (IMHO), a winger on the third and a center for the 2nd or 3rd line (depending on how Little is positioned).
I'm looking at Appleton, the AHL rookie of the year and Moose point leader, and Roslovic with darkhorse Robinson the 6'6" forward who was third in scoring with the Moose with a breakout season.
Vesalainen I'm not sure of. Saw him in the Young Stars tournament and nothing at all impressed me.
Could have put Dano there but I'm not giving this guy any benefit of the doubt.

I chose Petan and Lemieux as my now or never choices...I think they'll be given a shot.
I think Robinson has (unfortunately) left the organization for Calgary?

I actually think all forward positions are spoken for. Laine, Ehlers, Little, Wheeler, Connor, Scheifele, Tanev, Lowry, Copp, Petan, Perreault, Roslovic and Dano. Guys like Petan and Dano having to go through waivers will be given spots. Same goes for the 8 D-man. I don't really see any competition battles this year at all.

Yeah the fact that Dano and Petan have to go through waivers is a reality if they don't make the team that will be the 'risk'. Same with Copp who is in his arbitration year. He also has to clear waivers. Sometimes a GM can negotiate a deal before sending the person down, sometimes not. But I don't think any of these guys are guaranteed a spot. The only spots written in stone in my opinion are: Wheels, Scheif, Connor, Laine, Ehlers, Lowry, Little Tanev, Perreault. I believe Roslovic's ELC extends to 19-20 so he can't be scooped on waiver.

If there are three viable spots available (if you include Copp in that list) then Vesalainen, Appleton, Lemieux, Petan, Roslovic, Dano and Copp are fighting for the 3 positons. That's seven guys for three positions and the spare 1 or 2 forwards (or D) for the 23 man roster.

Again many options if one wants to make a deal, sure could use a real backup Goalie.

It's got me a bit worried. Its kind of like 2 years ago.Not that I think Helly will stumble but Lord help us if he goes down. They must see something in what's his name.(coffee hasn't kicked in) to have him as our backup. If this is the way we go into the season it is our only weak spot in my opinion.

I think a lot of folks look at Copp as a lock. Him sitting in the last game of the Western finals to me is a message by Maurice in terms of productivity. I'm not a big Copp fan though.

Copp probably is a lock, unless Chevy packages him up in a Trouba deal or something. Probably has some trade value. Honestly would have rather seen him go than Armia. I really don't know if anyone is really much of a Copp fan. I mean, he's not a terrible player, he has his moments and I still think fairly solid and reliable in a sense, but the word bland comes to mind. First couple of years I thought he was on the verge of figuring out the offensive game but if it hasn't happened by now I suppose he is what he is.

The trouble with Armia in my opinion was consistency. Some nights he was amazing, then he would disappear for weeks. That being said I was surprised they moved him in a cap dump.Im sad to see him go.

Armia is no big loss ,we need way more grit then a guy like him can offer.

I think you've clarified exactly the word that describes him best: 'bland'.
