Coyotes @ Stars: 6,306
Canucks @ Blue Jackets: 9,187
I was flipping between these two games last night and couldn't believe the lack of attendance for the very beginning of the season. The Stars until recently have had a very solid team and fanbase and with Carter joining the Bluejackets you'd think that there would be greater excitement for the Blue Jackets.

The Dallas crowd made my jaw drop. But I'm surprised Phoenix didn't win the game. They should've felt at home. What happened, the doh? Was the crowd too big for them to handle?

Both crowds were surprisingly low. Columbus more so considering the opponent was the Canucks. Numbers like this bleed RED.

I will give Dallas a pass bc of the Rangers game. Not really sure what happened in Columbus though. Maybe more people are excited about Wiz than Carter, so they are staying home until hes back? (sacasm) The Arch Street Army, sort of a fly by night attempt at a soccer type fan club, posted on their Facebook that they expect Oct 25, the return of Wiz, to sell out. I'm not able to attend that game, but until i see better midweek numbers, im not inclined to believe this. Speaking of Columbus, bets on how many Jets jerseys the TSN cameras will find on Nov 12th? Bet they'll find mine! If youre watching, and they show me, let me know!!

Anyone see tonight's CLB attendance - a little over 8K? Is CLB yet another franchise on the block?

they are stick in columbus through 2039 I think lol They are stuck there with the same glue that's keeping the Coyotes in Glendale until 2025 (or whatever year their 'lease' runs out). I'm hoping Columbus makes it, but no team is stuck in any market when a bankruptcy filing can void any lease out there. m.

Man, Dallas and Columbus are in some trouble. I feel bad for both teams, Dallas doesn't deserve to leave and Columbus has still never gotten a legitimate chance to win over it's crowd with the paltry teams they've fielded.

And they will play.... where? They don't have an arena. They can't be a part of this discussion until 2014 at the earliest. WHAT LOL!!! The team can play in the Colisée 2-3 years Quebecor and Bettman said its OK

The team can play in the Colisée 2-3 years Quebecor and Bettman said its OK Yes of course they COULD probably play in the Colisee for a short time, but 2-3 years? There would be substantial losses until they move to a new arena. And until there's actually a shovel in the ground, an NHL team moving to Quebec is very unlikely to happen. Also, let's face facts. Bettman moved the NHL to Winnipeg because True North was 100% ready to accept an NHL team and had played according to Bettman's rules for years. Bettman also despised the Atlanta Spirit Group, who did everything in their power to make him angry. He's made it very clear that he doesn't want to move teams and he seems very determined to keep Phoenix as a market for some reason. Quebec will have to have their ducks in a row to make this happen, and as of yet they just don't.
