Doesn't look positive since Christmas the team has been playing .500 hockey.

Two contributing factors here, and one of them is not injuries......
Hellebuyck and Laine
It was to much to hitch our wagon to Hellebuyck after ONE (1) breakout season where he was expected to be the backup, I believe the team overachieved in front of him last year which inflated his wins somewhat, now we are stuck in an inflexible situation with him for 5 more years and no certain guarantee of slightly above average yields.
And Laine, his drop in production is the diffenrece in some of the games where we lost.... if he chips in another 10 goals this year, which is where he should be, the Jets have first place TODAY, but Fortnite and Gawd knows what else was more important, if you ask me he's a 2 year deal at about 5.5 mill before any long term deal.
Nothin more than the 2nd round this year, if that.....

5 or 6 games in first round! Heart and head say a .500 team (since Xmas) is going to do poorly against St Loo. Hope like crazy I am wrong.

Has it been confirmed who we have first round? Nope it'll be Preds, Blues or Stars. Tomorrow night after we finish with the Coyotes, all will be clear.

Hellebuyck seems to be there now, he’ll give us a chance. As for Laine he’s the known, unknown. The best he can give us is some timely goals, we gotta bank on that.
