66% of China virus cases in NY came from those who were sheltering in place. Turns out the total lock down was unnecessary. And you got that from where! ? You do realize that you can have the virus for over a week before it presents ? There is so much data that shows and proves the opposite. Harder hit countries like the US, the UK, Italy, were all slow to react. The virus was able to get a foot hold and it begins to run rampant.Counties like New Zealand, Australia ,Canada that got on it quick have a far ,far lower curve. There is absolutely NO evidence that backs your statement. Edit: And call it by its right name .Not a name some political leader made up to deflect fault and blame

There are thousands and thousands of infectious disease experts , Doctors, ....etc that back the social distancing, stay at home plan. There are a few people with agendas that don't. I will always follow science and logic. If there is one thing the epidemic has done to me is it has given me an overwhelming appreciation that I am a Canadian and how all our various governments of every political stripe have handled this, following the medical experts

Regardless it’s over now and we’re not going back to lock down! People want there lives back! With Trudeau and our “so called” National news, we’ll be left sucking the hind one for a while yet. I give Palister credit for his reopening.

Regardless it’s over now and we’re not going back to lock down! People want there lives back! With Trudeau and our “so called” National news, we’ll be left sucking the hind one for a while yet. I give Palister credit for his reopening. It's not remotely close to over while we are not close to over, don't get too excited about Canada's response. We are just lucky. This is a highly transmittable disease and the most important factor is density. New York and New Jersey are so densely populated it is no wonder they are so messed up and why Winnipeg is faring so much better....don't credit that moron Trudeau for any response. In the US, the failed expert Tony Fauci was telling people in February that this will be "more like bad pandemic influenza". During a Feb. 29, 2020, interview, Dr. Fauci said that "Americans didn't need to change their behavior patterns." On March 9 he said "If you are a healthy young person, there is no reason if you want to go on a cruise ship, go on a cruise ship"....no surprise that when the heralded expert is saying crap like that that there is a massive spread in densely populated areas. On January 31 when the travel restrictions from China were put in place our dumb leader joined the democrats in calling the administration in the US xenophobes and racists for it. The lockdown was simply to flatten the curve to allow the medical system the ability to deal with the spike in cases. Mission accomplished. The fact is poverty will kill way more people than the virus. Unemployment and loss of jobs has created a huge rise in domestic violence, divorce and if this continues poverty. People not getting medical attention for heart ailments, early cancer diagnosis etc which will create much quicker death rates than the virus. Things have to open up now that the curve has been flattened or you will see a devastating depression that will dwarf the deaths from the virus. Trudeau will not understand this conversation.

So much out there that is "on the record" including what "failed" expert Fauci said, can be transmogrified into a message that is in keeping with their writer's beliefs. www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/apr/13/deanna-lorraine/tweet-amplified-trump-misleads-faucis-late-februar/And as for cruising there were so many caveats on his recommending that Americans go,that it excluded most typical cruisers. Yes he said healthy young Americans should go, not those who are elderly and medically afflicted. In other words no cruising for your typical customer. This was and is a very dynamic situation with decisions being made in real time with little information. Sure if Fauci foresaw the tragedy of NY he'd say different. So I am not sure why you have a bias against Dr. Fauci unless it is to support a political point of view.

no bias against Fauci. Its just that HE is the expert and it is pretty tough to get it right (Trump or Cuomo) when the "expert" isn't saying that it must be shut down. Its not dangerous for younger Cruisers but we now know that they can be largely asymptomatic carriers and they pass it on - thats where the real problem lies. All I was pointing out is that even the expert advisor who was telling the President and Governors what to do was clearly wrong for a long time. And not to give our useless Prime Minister any credit as all he does is call people xenophobes for doing the right thing. He has not made one decent decision on his own. Even his bailouts are tailored after the US...good thing he has another country to model stuff after or we would be up you know what's creek without a paddle.

Also a story came out in the LA Times and picked up by other media about a week ago where some scientists were warning of a more virulent form of the virus which had been discovered in testing.
Personally, the NHL season is a lost cause and the NHL should stop trying to save this season by its post-season ruminations.
The NFL has sent out their season schedule. This multi-billion dollar machine is looking for a fall as it arrogantly believes it will be business as usual.

Yea,, a little good news comes out then in a few hours it’s shot down by the next forecast of doom. US election on November 2 is their purpose to keep this chaos going. Betcha the second wave forecast is more of the same.

^^What is wrong with you?? These kids are dying horrible deaths just like the others are. There parents must be in angony
The experts were right when they said people would point to the death count and say no reason to stay at home. We will never know what would have happened had we not shut down, but I believe the deaths would be out of control.
We are nowhere ready to return back to pre-covid, I wonder if we ever will
This of course is only my opinion
