Half of the Florida Marlins have COVID. If that was not bad enough, they had just finished playing the Philadelphia Phillies, so it's likely the Phillies now have the virus too.
It was a stupid move not doing the hub city thing, and that's all she wrote for baseball in 2020.

MLB is going to keep going until at least one other team has on outbreak. Manfred says what happened isn't a nightmare and all is still well. Nutshell of the US in general. It's all about the $$$.

Now employees of the Phillies and Cardinals have tested positive for COVID, as well as the Marlins. Who will shut down this gong show, or will the MLB continue to embarrass itself?

It was a Phillies coach and road club house staffer that tested positive. The Cardinals had 2 players test positive but MLB is planning on having them play tomorrow. LOL The Marlins keep having players test positive after initially testing negative. They are up to 17 players and 2 others. They are a week behind in games along with the Phillies. The Phillies canceled their weekend series with Toronto. The missed games are piling up. LOL MLB is going to 7 inning double headers. If the Cardinals do play tomorrow and a double header Sunday they will be the Marlins 2.0.
Injuries are piling up too because pitchers didn't have enough time to prepare. Justin Verlander will likely need tommy john and miss this year and next. Corey Kluber has a torn muscle in his shoulder and will miss most of the year if not all. Mike Trout went on paternity leave and my guess is he don't come back.
Manfred is the WORST commissioner of all time in any sport except maybe Roger Goodall. Football is going to under go something worst than MLB with 53+ man rosters and will go even more than MLB to try and get a season in. Tons of NFL players have opted out. The Patriots lost a huge chunk of their team with opt outs. MLB needs another Bud Selig. He loved the game, Manfred don't. When he left the Astros off the hook for cheating he said he didn't need to take away the world series trophy because "it's just a piece of metal".
Only way any sport has a shot is
1. A bubble and very small rosters like the NBA 2. A bubble in Canada or outside the US

Update- Another Marlin tests positive. That's 18 now!!! Rumors is the Marlins lead by Jose Urena went to a strip club in Atlanta and the Cardinals Yadier Molina admitted that he and 2 other Cardinals went to a strip club in Minnesota. Manfred has called union head Tony Clark and warned him they may shut down the season Monday if the players don't take this seriously www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29572885/sources-mlb-commissioner-warns-shutdown-players-do-better-job-managing-coronavirusShould another outbreak materialize, Manfred, who has the power to shut down the season, could move in that direction. Multiple players briefed on the call fear the season could be shut down as soon as Monday if positive tests jump or if players continue not to strictly abide by the league's protocols. State and local governments have pressured baseball about players skirting the mandates outlined in the league's 113-page operations manual, sources told ESPN. Broadcasts that have shown players high-fiving, spitting and not wearing masks have left government officials wondering how seriously players are taking the protocols, sources said. Further, there is concern about off-the-field choices, with one high-ranking official saying: "There are some bad decisions being made."

I hope and pray that NHL players are more restrained.

We are now up to 7 Cardinals and 6 staffers who have tested positive. The Cardinals entire 4 game series in Detroit has been cancelled and the Cubs players say they expect the entire 3 game weekend series against them to be cancelled. This is a joke.
I've heard the theory that MLB will go as long as they can so they can have regular season tv content for a while even though they know this is a joke, then pause the season 2 weeks and let every team entire a bubble for a 30 team playoff.
