A reasonably balanced article. However, Wheeler is older now than the last playoffs, but the team may rally with a win only to revert to "this is good enough" mentality and let their fans in Winnipeg down again the following game. I contrast that against the Florida Panthers who have an inconsistent goalie but come out firing on all cylinders and have given the Bruins everything they could handle.

Won’t matter now, Scheif out for game 5. Scheifele's absence will mean nothing and might even benefit the Jets. The dysfunction on this team is not solely on him and I suggest the team has no confidence in themselves as a team and less in their GM. Vegas was without their key player (Mark Stone) for a long time and still finished well ahead of the Jets. Moreover, their supporting cast contributed during the season and the playoffs. BTW, the panels on NHL radio unanimously picked Vegas to end the series next game and many said that the losses of Scheifele and Morrissey didn't really affect the final outcome. Whether you like the players or not losing four top players will hurt any team. To say otherwise is ridiculous.

Historically. In games where they face elimination the Jets are 1-5.
True North has deep pockets. Sell the team and lobby for an expansion franchise. Hire a GM with smarts. Then maybe you have something to work with.

Yes losing Morrissey and Ehlers hurt the team but the gist of the panel reasoning was that having those players (and Scheifele) in the lineup would simply have prolonged the series but would make no difference in the outcome.

Then maybe you have something to work with. It is obvious that you are using sarcasm to make a point, but there are several teams that have built or rebuilt themselves since the NHL Jets 2.0 came to Winnipeg but the Jets have risen to mediocrity and hovered there. If nothing changes, then nothing changes. There is a life rule that says if you want to keep on getting what you've been getting, then keep on doing what you've been doing.

Charles Adler wrote an article in todays FP critical of the work ethic of certain members of the Jets. It's certainly telling of the reach of the Jets into the psyche of the citizens of Winnipeg and the province, when Adler writes about the Jets trials and tribulations.

Sarcastic to a point, track. We were eliminated by a 1st year Vegas team. The 2nd year Kraken have the former champs facing elimination. So sarcasm, yeah, but it seems to be the fast track to success. The right players with the right mindset.
