It's pretty convenient and telling to be able to lean on "God's plan" for their failures. It enables a culture where personal accountability is easily dismissed and failings can be shifted away to some higher power. Disgusting is a very appropriate word. Cowardly, egotistical, arrogant, and slothful are other words that fit.

A very telling thing was that not one player during the post-season presser said that they should have played better as individuals and/or as a team. Apparently it was the will of God or such. This. Not one player claimed accountability for the garbage last half of the season. Not one. And if you dont want a re-build then play better and we would not need one. I have been a Helle fan and still am but yes he has not been stellar in the playoffs. I will say again that many players say the "want" to win but what they should say is we would "like" to win. That is a big difference. If they truly wanted to win they would play as a team and play the system and play with effort. They don't do that so they dont want to put the work in that they all know it takes to actually win a Cup. The fan reaction will be insane if Chippy does not make major changes. I continue to believe that Hellebuyck is one of the top half-dozen goalies in the league, but when he saw the defeatist/uncommitted play of his teammates he essentially gave up. I use the term "teammates" only out of convenience because I do not believe this is a real team. It is a collection of talented individuals who are playing as individuals. Wheeler is out to lunch in saying this sort of thing ought to be discussed behind closed doors. I would bet that there have been several behind closed doors meetings, yet here we are again.

Neiderreiter has announced that its been fun, but he does not want to be around for a rebuild. Another nail in the coffin for Chevy and the team. He was one of the few bright spots on this edition of the Jets and came to play every puck-drop. A BIG loss.

Notice how all the players came out in unison. Fact of the matter is this GM will have to make hard decisions as the status quo is not acceptable.

Problem is that the current GM believes all is well no changes should be made....I guess losing is fine just as long as they make the playoffs. I want my players to say this season wasn't a success because we didn't win a cup. Instead they turn it around and act like they are satisfied.

The worst communication I have ever seen. All's good on the Western front. Move on. Nothing to see here:

Damned few players will come out and say that the team was or is crap. That might get them labelled as troublemakers and reduce their desirability and income. Kudos to those who come out and tell it as it is.

He also said that Winnipeg is a cool place, he likes it here, he also said that with one more year left on his contract, he wants to be here, he also said that he would also like to stay longer with the Jets after his one year contract is up.

Jets players are running this team, not the Coaching Staff, not the Management Team. Chipman is the biggest problem, how can he not realize that Chevy after 12 years has not worked out? How can Chipman not realize that the Jets players run this team as the Country Club that the Jets players are, how dumb is Chipman? Chipman is the Owner, everything that is wrong with the Jets as a whole organization rests on Chipman’s lap.

Just finished listening to the Chevy presser and then followed that up with the Kenny and Renny post presser show. That was a predictable Chevy, although I believe he is a mouthpiece for Chipman and by now I'm thinking he's probably kept around mainly because of his ability to talk in circles and keep the fans in the dark, much like Maurice did, just Chevy does it in a less polished way. That was pretty bad Chevy!
Well, he did what he was hired to do I guess. I thought K&R broke it down pretty good.

Of interest, the Panthers are playing hard for PM and playing within a system....just saying.

I am glad the GM and players believe in mediocrity. In the spring we don’t have false expectations of watching playoffs in June and now I can get my deck built so I can have margaritas on it in June while the players do what they rather do instead of going for the cup. The interviews were pathetic and an embarrassment.
