So in essence, we will see them tomorrow night. Yep, in Winnipeg against Scheifele & Connor....maybe Hellebuyck?ย TrueNorth will appreciate the tickets sales. ๐๐. Looking forward to tomorrowโs game.

A bit surprised Edmonton didn't dress their best two players for this game. Typically you see teams ice their strongest teams at home and weaker on the road. I think McDavid and Draisitl prefer to play the games in Winnipeg! They like our WIFI better!

Nice 2-1 shootout win by the Jets tonight over Edmonton. Most of the goal scoring happened in the 1st period, with Toninato poking it by a defender at center ice to spring himself to a breakaway goal giving Winnipeg the lead. Edmonton responded in the second half of the period on the PP when a wrist shot got through traffic and while Delia made the save, the Jets defenseman couldn't stop Hyman from banging in a rebound. Delia was great in his first game with a Jets logo on his jersey, stopping 36 of 37 shots in the three regulation periods, plus overtime. He continued the strong play in the shootout, denying all 3 Oilers he faced, including a robbery with the glove on Nugent-Hopkins. It was Winnipeg's new center, Cole Perfetti, who won things for the Jets when he delayed long enough to flip the puck over the goalies pad. He had a wry grin on his face after scoring, so it may not exactly went as he planned, but he still lit the lamp. BOJA Recon:- The Iafallo/Lowry/Appleton line spent most of their shifts in the offensive zone.
- The Moose line of Zhilkin/Lambert/Chibrikov created their fair share of chances, but also were pinned in the defensive zone by the Oilers' top line on a few occasions.
- Malott did his best to fill Ehlers spot on a line with Perfetti & Niederreiter and had a pretty good game. The line will obviously be more dangerous when Fly is back, but it may be a bit on the small size.
- Love a physical defensive duo like Dillon & Bauer were tonight. Opposing players are definitely keeping their heads up when those two are on the ice.
- Chisholm was great with the puck and as a career forward, I didn't notice any huge flaws in his defensive game. Heinola also played well, physically winning battles on a few occasions against Edmonton's Hyman. He also jumped into the offense at times (less than Chisholm appeared to), but did make a couple defensive miscues later in the game to give up scoring chances against. Ville and Nate finished the game with a +1 rating, along with the Toninato/Harkins/Jonsson-Fjallby forward unit.
- Lambert and Niederreiter led the Jets in shots on net with 4 each.
- Obviously, Delia was excellent with a .973 save percentage in his Jets' debut.

I think if the Jets hope to make the playoffs, we will be seeing a lot of games like this one this season. 2-1 and 3-2 games, plus or minus empty netters will probably be the Jets bread & butter. That would be fine, as long as we come out on top most times, and the team plays with zero panic to achieve it. Gotta be comfy in close games and play to win, not to not lose.

Pre-season games are primarily to assess individuals and line combinations. Winning is always nice but playing within a system is the key- we have had way too much lack of that in the past few years.

Welcome to the site padresk......love the Father Mulcahy picture....M*A*S*H was one of my favourite TV shows. One of mine as well. I'd like to think I am as humbly wise as the good father. I think I registered a few years ago simply as Padre, but lost the login/email info (changed jobs and no longer have some email addresses I used to use). So had to adapt.
